[Playoff Scenarios]3rd or 5th, We have to face Dallas or Phoenix.

we can't get 5th. spurs are rolling right now and teams are doubling tmac harder and harder. you'll see the role player suck every once in a while like last night. if we had yao, we'll get the 3rd seed. but hey, i prefer the 5th seed's route.

spurs WILL beat phoenix if they meet.

is it possible to focus on the regular season still?

everytime we try and predict our final record or playoffs, the team loses.

 

Damn! I just woke up, and I know I slept pretty long, but didn't realize it was already early June. Missed the whole first round of the playoffs!?!?

Why not worry about passing the first round (something this team has not done in a decade)? Hell, lets make the playoffs first, before worrying about who we will face in the second round.

 

So the question is who would you rather face in the 1st round?

Utah


I prefer Utah.

Kobe can be too dangerous especially if Odom is playing well.

 

why are we talking about the 2nd round? lets talk about the first round. Utah, San Ant or the Lakers are gonna be a tough first round matchup

 

so in order to make the finals or even win a championship we have to face the best teams? interesting.

 

obviously we have to play the best teams to obviously make the finals. obviously we have to beat dallas and maybe phoenix or san antonio. can we obviously quit trying to talk about the playoffs because its so obvious we don't know whats going to happen from now til then.

 

It is not wise to choose who will WANT to play in the playoff. Too many variables, and it may very well back fire on you.

Above all, Rockets did not play well against the top tier teams in the west like Mavs, Suns, Utah, Lakers. Only exception MAY be Spurs. To get out of the first round, Rockets will have to get as good a record in the regular season as possible, and play at a higher level during play off time than they do now, no matter who they will play against in the playoff.

 

My question is why do you underestimate the Spurs so much?

You have them losing to the Lakers and Jazz, and it's true that they haven't played up to their standards in the past, but don't sell them short just yet.

Anyways, hopefully we don't face the Lakers b/c I think Kobe is going to go on a tear this year to prove he can take a team past the first round w/o Shaq so I would much rather face the Jazz. Plus, imagine if the Lake Show knocked the Suns out for us......

 

get 4th seed, play Utah with home court advantage. Second round, play Dallas.

 

Is it obvious that any seedings from 3rd to 6th will face mavs or suns in the second round?

I don't care who the team plays, but there is NO way this team should be below a 4th seed, they should have home court in the first round.

As long as they play hard every night.

phoenix (if our defense sucks)
dallas (if our confidence sucks)

 

Just thinking about making the 2nd round and conference finals, Finals gets me all excited.
