The playoffs are here (I'm a little late on this) and some people just have to have their playoff rituals. Mine is to always hold a Rockets logo ball through the game and to wear the Rockets' championship hat. Oh, and I always eat something strawberry flavored at halftime. What about you guys? Let's hear 'em!
Mine is if I watch the playoff games at home or my friends house, during the 1st quarter I check to see if Rockets are doing better with me on the ground or on the couch...I know thats not a ritual but I do that in playoffs and my playoff tradition is that I put a Rockets flag on my car a day before the playoff starts and stays on my car for as long as we are in playoffs! unfortunately 2 years ago I had to take it off after 1st round but Im getting a special feeling this season
Well I always build a shrine/altar to please the basketball gods: I always wear my Olajuwon hat and drink from my Rockets glass (been doin it since '94) This year I added a noise maker. I had this toy gun I got for a Halloween costume a while back and I use it when we make big shots / plays. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qyn0QcvIzQQ"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qyn0QcvIzQQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
In 93' and 94', every time the rockets would fall behind, my mom would check the tomatoes she was growing outside. When she would come back in, the rockets would have the lead. But, she hasnt done that since then.
Well i dont really have rituals, but everytime one of our player shoot a three,i jump up, show a "3" with my fingers and swing my hand down (as players do when they make an and-one play.) Also, when tmac comes around a pick, acceleratingg i stand up. And if the game is VERY important, i wear my tmac jersey.
I sit on the floor in my living room about 3 feet away from the TV, no chair, directly on the carpet. I keep a glass of water (screaming makes you thirsty..) and I never let it get less than half full... The best one so far has got to be the shrine...that was hilarious.
When I can afford it, I go buy a ticket and go to the game and support our boys. This year doesn't look so good though
