Houston Rockets:____(33-31) ____ .516________ +2 _______________ 18 ______ The only thing right now giving the Rockets the slightest chance of sliding into the 8th spot is the fact that we have 4 more games remaining in the season than Portland with which to try and make up some ground in the W column. If the Rockets were to go 18-0 for the remainder of the season, they would end up at (51-31) +20 Games with a .622 winning percentage. That MIGHT be able to slide them into the 6th seed of the playoffs. MIGHT. Of course that is a best case scenario. For the Rockets to get the 8th seed this year, my prediction is that they will have to go 15-3 the remainder of the season and that is with some hope that Portland, Phoenix and San Antonio have some major hick-ups along the way.
I think we could compete with our healthy lineup now. The inconsistency this season has hurt our chances. I hope we at least make a push, so they have something really positive to build on next season.
lol @ expecting this rocket team to win 15 of 18 games.... why cant some of you come to grips with the fact the rockets are not making the postseason ?
I like your attitude. I am not expecting it but hoping it happens. As long as they give it their all until they are mathematically eliminated I will be happy.
Well no one is expecting them to win 15 of 18 games. I think most are taking it a game at a time and looking at the loss columns of the teams ahead of us.
the rockets are 2 games over .500 while the blazers are 12 games over .500. the 8th seed will be at least 10 games over .500 and i doubt the rockets will have that kind of record.
we goin fishin no doubt.....someone needs to photoshop up a pic of aaron in a gilligan hat sitting side-by-side with luis and kyle in a fishing boat....shane can be the professor and the chuckwagon can be the skipper.....tmac can be maryann..
My quote was "For the Rockets to get the 8th seed this year, my prediction is that they will have to go 15-3 the remainder of the season..." I didn't say they could do it, in fact, my point was, considering our current state of play and who we have to go through, this is a very very tough situation to be in. The window is almost closed. . . . . but not closed just yet.
i like the attitude. if the basketball gods send something our way then hopefully we can slide into the 8th spot and give LA a first round exit. after that i really don't care who we lose to. i kinda hope san antonio gets another championship before that team retires.
I like the attitude as well, but I doubt that we will make it this year. However, if "the trade" goes according to plan, this might be the last year for a long time that we fail to make the playoffs. DM setup the franchise yet again for long term success while keeping the short term goals in sight. Next year should be a very telling year for us. Now, as usual rockets fan, we cheer for everybody who plays against the following teams: Jazz, Lakers, and Mavs. Dream finals scenario: Cavs vs Lakers With cavs winning and shaq pointing to kobe, I got one more than you bit#* LOL only in a perfect world.
the best team in the east is orlando. Cleveland chokes too much. For some reason they can't beat orlando. The west is a two team race: Denver vs. LA. The finals will be either LA/Den vs. Orl/Clev
I don't know tho. The addition of Salmons was a very good one. Put him alongside Bogut and Jennings and he is very tough for teams to stop. I don't think Cleveland or Orlando would be able to contain Jennings. They have a nice big 3, they have decent depth and are pretty well coached. I think they got as good a shot as any.
The 3 games to keep an eye on tonight are: 1. Utah vs. Oklahoma City --> We Need Utah To Win 2. New Orleans vs. Phoenix --> We Need New Orleans To Win 3. Toronto vs. Portland --> We Need Toronto To Win
Good look. I didn't know that the Suns were in 7th. They were up there just the other day. Life in the Western Conference.... I think a Portland loss is most important.
Spurs remaining schedule Tue 16 @ Miami L Wed 17 @ Orlando L Fri 19 vs Golden State W Sun 21 @ Atlanta L Mon 22 @ Oklahoma City L Wed 24 vs LA Lakers L Fri 26 vs Cleveland L Sun 28 @ Boston W Mon 29 @ New Jersey W Wed 31 vs Houston L Fri 02 vs Orlando L Sun 04 @ LA Lakers L Tue 06 @ Sacramento W Wed 07 @ Phoenix L Fri 09 vs Memphis W Sat 10 @ Denver L Mon 12 vs Minnesota W Wed 14 @ Dallas L They have it very tough for the remainder of season
Put it like this, if we win 16 or so games even the Lakers would be be antsy if the Rockets were 8th. They would probably rather face any other team than a Rockets team that just won 16/18 games. That would give the Rox major confidence going into the playoffs. One can hope.
