Elton Brand is seriously pwning the Lakers right now. :)

Not to hijack this thread, but I'm betting this thread will be busier if we can beat Phoenix on monday. I still think there's a feeling that the Rockets are teasing us only to crush our hopes later.

Right now, the Rockets are like a filthy w**** but she will have become an honest woman with a win against Phoenix on monday.

Similes use the words "like" or "as" for their connector:

    "Rockets are like..."

Do we have the best record in the league in February so far?

    9-2 is quite impressive.

Need to watch all the teams above us.

awesome news that we just jumped over Minny (they lost tonight to Denver)
Beat GSW who are now only a 1/2 game in front of us
    Lakers lose to the Clippers
    SA beats the Grizz

its going to be a very tight fight all the way to the end but its nice to be moving up.

When you look at all the teams from Memphis on down, there is only one team that looks like it could sustain an extended run playing anything above .500. That is us..........if we stay healthy.

When you break down all those team's remaining schedules, game by game, it looks like a big pile of .500 and sub .500 records with some of those teams falling into the abyss. If we stay healthy, we can get there.

If we get there, I hope we face anybody but Phoenix and San Antonio so at least we have a chance to get out of the first round. It sure would be nice to knock down the 6th spot. I can't see the Lakers playing but .500 max the rest of the way. And I can see the possibility of the Hornets only eeking out 11 or 12 more wins. So, either a 7th or 8th spot seems doable to me. And if we play like we seem to be capable of playing and go 20-7 the rest of the way, we may be able to sneak into the 6th spot, although highly unlikely. That would be the dream. Play our tails off, finish 44-38, and wrestle 6 away from Memphis, and go up against Denver first round.

A man can dream, can't he?

Lakers are no sweat. THey arent goin anywhere. I have been saying this from the beginning, the lakers are a bunch of posers. Bryant isnt a team player.

Worry about Sacremento though. THey have really picked it up since the trade and could be making a strong playoff push.

    I like whores.

Wish he will come back and get his shots.
Now I'm really think Tmac need to think about fans, teams, and his salary....

The Rockets need to try and get to the 7th playoff seed. If we end up with the 8th we would have to play Dallas in the first round and San Antonio in the second. 7th would be the much easier route having to play Phoenix in the first then Denver in the second.

That's my favorite scenario, too ...

    Revenge!!! :D

(Although the optimistic 6 seed vs Denver as a 3 seed doesn't sound so bad, either.)

the lakers have a nice soft spot in their schedule coming up. IF we can beat out phoenix (and you know JVG will have them PREPARED this time) then i think there will be plenty of time to get hopefull. all this of course will be moot if we dont beat out orlando tomorrow.

for us to even have a decent shot we must win the games we are supposed to win (right now i go upon the projections of how we play with yao and tracy in the lineup, healthy...not the record we currently have) and win a few tough ones otherwise.

losing the lakers 2 weeks ago was a huge loss, we win that and we're 25-30 and the lakers would be 27-28. only two games behind and not four. that loss really hurt us. 2 games is more than doable with 27 games left. 4 games is doable too of course.

i have faith we'll be able to get the eigth if we stay healthy for the season... i dont think we can get much higher than eigth. besides i want the 8 spot if dallas finish first

We just have to keep winning. Phoenix game is a back to back one. so hmm. I still don't know what jvg's plan is.

if we get to play dallas for the 1 vs. 8, that will be the most watched playoff series..maybe more than the finals. but we better have a plan to defend the 3, screw dirk, but watch out for terry's 3.
