Nobody won 100 games. Teams targeting which middling player they can get to ensure 80-90 wins (mediocre) just to have a chance. This is the age of parity and truly just about making the crapshoot playoffs and see who gets hot at the right time (or see who’s $300-600 million stars step up the most…. Right now, Ohtani and Soto looking to be worth the cost that only 3-4 teams can truly afford).
And yet, they’ll figure out a way to bungle the lede. Fox already is running more promos for next Sunday’s NFL slate vs. World Series games. Tom Brady said to KB: “I like watching you on tv with that baseball crew…” during the game yesterday… i was guessing that was him putting the effort in to promote the brand.
They are about gentrify the **** out of Chavez Ravine (again) and the poor cholos who rooted for them all year will be watching from their shitty Boyle Heights apartments
The Wild Card best of 3 game series is a joke. Astros, Phillies and Orioles deserves better. I will be fixated the last game of the series so I can see grown men cry for losing.
Winning playoff games at home is too monumental a task for the Astros. Curing cancer is in closer reach
Astros and Orioles got swept at home. If it had been a 5 game series, they'd have been down 0-2 going on the road for the next 2 games. Phillies didn't even have to play a 3 game wild card series, so not sure what better they deserved.
Meanwhile on non-Clutchfans social media, lots of complaints from Dodgers and Yankees fans about why not everyone is happy about seeing two MVPs face off against each other in the World Series.
Two best teams ran the guantlet as expected. It's the same teams every year. Astros, Dodgers, and Yankees combined 14 appearances in the division series in the last 8 years. This is baseball. Let's go!
2017, there has only been one year where the Dodgers or Astros weren't in the World Series... and only one year where they played against each other. 2017 - LAD vs Hou 2018 - LAD 2019 - Hou 2020 - LAD 2021 - Hou 2022 - Hou 2023 - Nada 2024 - LAD
