A buddy of mine in Michigan and I grew up thinking R.B.I. baseball for Nintendo was the greatest baseball video game of all-time. We always talk about playing again some day if we ever get together. I know you can download the NES rom for the game online, but is there a reliable way to play it against each other online? Several years ago we tried doing it once, but it didn't really work properly (the game sometimes did different things -- an error on my screen would be an out on his screen, etc.) My google searches don't seem to net much. Long shot, but anyone have any experience with this?
I don't know how to do that...but speaking of that game, 3 years ago, my two roommates and I would make outrageous bets to the tune of R.B.I. Baseball...there is a simplicity and just pure fun in that game that can't be described. Ah..."Ribbies" as we'd call it...
It's been a while since I touched an nes emu. jnes- http://jabosoft.com/?categoryid=1 Setting up netplay- http://jabosoft.com/?articleid=19
I have done it recently with SNES games using MAME32k and Kailera servers. I had the same problems. The game would get out of sync. We finally figured out how to get it to work. But we didn't do NES. If you want the easy and fun way to play SNES games online, get a Wii. It has a a lot and is getting more and more.
Woah Clutch, my college roomate and I play that all the time when he comes in town on the projector. It is surreal to play it on an 8 foot screen.....good times. We even played a whole season and chronicled our records.....Oh man.....that was fun. DD
if they made rbi baseball with updated rosters i'd play that before anything else. sorry clutch, don't know how to do it online.
Man, that is one of my favourite NES games of all time other than Punch Out. I loved being able to switch hit. It was awesome trying to steal bases with the speedy players.
My favorite was Little League World Series. My dad beat me something like 40 times in a row before I finally beat him.
There used to be popular online Super Tecmo Bowl league w/ updated rosters that was pretty successful w/ online play. Unfortunately that seems to have died out. Sorry, don't know how that helps but it seems possible. BTW, does anyone remember that baseball game where you could have special pitches. For example, you could pitch a normal baseball pitch, but you also had other occassional pitches like a fireball (or triple fireball), a cannonball, etc. I remember having fun w/ that one.
man, that game kinda sucked. you couldnt use the D-Pad... I played baseball simulator 2000 on NES. Greatest baseball game ever Bo Jackson Baseball-The worst
Dude, I loved that game! I remember crying when i was 7 because I let my uncle come back on me when I was up 17-2. I can't believe I lost.
