Hey, everyone. Just wanted to mention that the two bands I'm in have some gigs coming up the next two weeks. Slap.Shifter (funky rock and alt.rock) is playing at Rudyard's on Saturday, March 6 and opening for the Stone Coyotes at the Rhythm Room on Friday, March 19. This band is made up of two former members of the alt.funk.rock band Skillit that was very popular in the 90's, two former members of the Joint Chiefs and me. My other band, orange is in (thank you again PhiSlammaJamma), will be playing at Rudyard's on Saturday, March 12 doing an early opening set for the Mandy Smith Group (probably between 9:30 and 10pm. That band is pop/rock and has the exact same rhythm section (guitar, bass, drums) as Slap.Shifter but is a very different feel. For more information on the orange is in gigs, you can check out the beginnings of our website at http://www.orangeisin.com/ and even get on our maillist. Slap.Shifter's site will be up in the next couple of weeks. Hope to see some of you there! Come up and say, "hey." I'll be the dorky bass player.
I should have mentioned that there are four bands playing Saturday. My songwriting partner and I from orange is in are doing an acoustic set to open up followed by Stacey Steger, then Slap.Shifter and then a band from Austin called Sparkwood. They are made up of former members of a few college/indie bands popular in Houston in the early and mid-90's.
It is easier to read if you put it in italics or use something similar to differentiate it until it goes into common usage like: Beatles Rolling Stones Weather Report etc
I should have mentioned that there are four bands playing Saturday. Mango: I'm getting emails when there are responses to this thread and as soon as I saw your name on the email, the first thing I thought was, "Did I spell something wrong? Did I leave something out of my post?" El Toro: Unfortunately, we haven't done any recording yet. Both bands are relatively new.
Well, you had a good hunch. niche: A situation or activity specially suited to a person's interests, abilities, or nature.

Sorry I missed the post. orange is in started at 9:30 and SlapShifter went on at about 11:30. Good crowd and I thought we sounded good. But, I won't know for sure until I hear the board tape.
