Who is the starting 5? Who will be first off the bench? this is how I think the rotation will work out. starters Rafer (30) / Derek (10) / Head (08) Derek (20) / DWes (28) / JBarry (08) TMac (35) / JBarry (13) Swift (30) / Howard (18) Yao (30) / Swift (05) / Deke (10) First one off the bench is JHoward as Yao usually needs to sit. Jhoward will sub in for Yao and play PF while Swift shifts over to Center temporarily until the next subs. Deke is effective in short bursts and should see his minutes decline not because he isnt performing but hopefully because Swift/Howard are just that good. The starting backcourt would just be too small w/ Rafer/DWes so JVG may decide to pair him with DA just for his size and versatility. Once BSura comes back that may change and Dwes might get his spot back again. who knows. J
I think once Sura is back he will be starting at 2 and DA will come off the bench as a 2 with wesly at 1. DA will do the distributing. Or DA at 3 off the bench and have barry at 2 and wesly at 1. We have alot of good cobinations now that we have a semi-guarenteed(Van Gundy might think differently in a month) starter in Rafer. What ever Jeff decides I agree with. If there are changes to be made to the starting line-up mid season he will not hesitate.
I think it'd be more like this... Rafer (35) / Sura (10) / Head (03) Derek (25) / DWes (13) / Sura (10) TMac (38) / JBarry (10) Swift (32) / Howard (16) Yao (35) / Deke (13)
i think you dont give wesley or howard enough minutes. here is mine: yao 36 - deke 12 stro 28 - jho 20 tmac 38 - barry 10 wesley 24 - DA 24 rafer 30 - sura 18 if sura doesnt return then i expect bowen to take barry's minutes and barry to take sura's with DA then splitting his time between the 1 and the 2.
pg: alston (30), sura (14), head (4) sg: wesley (24), anderson (22), barry (2) sf: mcgrady (40), barry (8) pf: swift (30), howard (18) c: yao (35), mutumbo (13)
Yao must accept a pay cut if he plays less than 35 minutes per game. Max contract = max contribution.
lol... I haven't seen Bowen's name anywhere... JVG loves this guy's hustle and energy, he's good for at least 5 min a game
I don't worry that much about the regular season if he will give the team 35+mins during the playoff.
PG: Skip (30) / Sura (18) SG: Wesley (25) / DA (15) Barry (8) SF: Tmac (35) / DA (8) / Barry (5) PF: Swift (25) / Howard (23) C: Yao (35) / Mutumbo (8) / Swift (5) 04/05 MPG -> 05/06 R. Alston (34)->(30) B. Sura (32)->(18) D.Wesley (35)->(25) D. Anderson (26)->(23) J. Barry (23)->(13) T. McGrady (41)->(35) S.Swift (21)->(30) J.Howard (27)->(23) Y.Ming (31)->(35) D.Mutumbo (15)->(8)
agreed, but i still think howard is not losing his starting job/minutes until Swift shows he has the defensive assignments nailed down. By the end of the season the minutes will be split in average I think.
IC mentioned in another thread that Head was playing PG for the second squad but no mention who was on the first. Im assuming now. First Team Alston Wesley (for now) TMac JHoward (for now) Yao Second Team (not a bad team) Head (what a suprise) JBarry DA SSwift Deke I still think JVG will makes adjustments.. who thinks Alston/DWes will start together to form the smallest starting backcourt in the league.
