Are you more concerned about developing the talent and make a serious push few years from now , or trying to not lose 100 games for the 4 th straight year.
To be honest, I think we should be reaping the benefit of our farm team development for the first time this season. No, it's not the end result, but with guys like George Springer and Jon Singleton coming onto a team with vets such as Dexter Fowler and Scott Feldman, I don't think I'm expecting too much by wanting the team to have a better record this time.
Developing talent. Let the young guys play. I think Luhnow and co. made that question rather moot by not bringing in much legitimate veteran competition. The pen is the only area where vets could be taking time from the young guys and based on last year that's not a bad thing. I'm not anxious to run out a pen of Zeid, Cisnero, Lo, Chapman again.
I agree that we're GOING to be very good. That said, I believe we're in for more pain THIS year... Likely around 100 losses.... For me, the time frame has been out the window, withstanding the Drayton years, being left with a husk...Now, Luhnow at the helm, given free reign to rebuild organically..from the ground up....days of grace. It might take us 2-3 more years, but when we start to compete it will be on a consistent basis...long gone the days of not signing draft picks being policy.
