Its way past time to expect anything out of this season and to concentrate on the one good thing about being a footbal team that sucks. Right now, the Texans have the worst record in the league and stand a good chance of keeping that distinction. That means, draft choice #1. Its a foregone conclusion that there will probably be a coaching change if not a GM change also. I would say that a quarterbsack change plus a trade getting rid of Andre Johnson should be in the works also. The GM and coach I think are givens, the record speaks for itself. David Carr is simply to stupid to be an NFL quarterback. They will never give his slow brain long enough to think bsack there. Johnson does not have the ability to tet himself open to receive a pass which all good receivers have to do. If he does he drops critical passes. Its time to stop making excuses for this team. Clean out the deadwood and lets get something going.
Andre Johnson? Seriously? Any post talking about how bad the Texans are that doesn't a) mention the defense or b) mention the OL as the major problems is simply ludicrous.
Nope I mean Johnson. If he wants to catch passes he has to get open. If he wants to have completions, he has to not drop the ball.
The receiver I see dropping the ball more than anyone is Bradford. As far as getting open, even the best require more than three tenths of a freaking nanosecond to get open. Accurate criticism of this team, IMO, starts and ends with its management, and along the way includes the OL and the defense. Everything else is just minor irritations.
Carr and Johnson aren't going anywhere. The sooner you realize this, the sooner you won't post useless threads like this. As far as GM and coaching, well......
In all honesty, we have no choice as I find it very hard to believe we'll win another game...Maybe the Cardinals and San Fran, but that's about it...We'll still be close the the #1 pick. Hell, the Jets, Ravens, Packers, Saints, Cardinals and San Fran all have a shot... Bottom line, Bradford sucks, Coaches Suck, O-Line Sucks and Carr Sucks...
I honestly believe that Carr is worth keeping. I have faith that if he was under a better system (including the coaching), with adequite protection he would be one of the best in the league. For those that want to send Carr on his way, what is your alternative? Leinert? Be real - There are not very many good qb's in the league. Certainly not any with the potential of Carr. You don't think another team would jump all over the possibility of having Carr? Replacing Carr would be the worst thing to do to this team.
How many of these threads have been started recently? Either way, how is trading Carr and Andre Johnson going to help the club? I might understand Carr, but Andre? Every receiver have drops here and there, and AJ has no chance whatsoever when Carr doesn't have time for him to get open. No matter how could Dunta Robinson or his opposite field counterpart would be, there's no way they can cover receivers forever if our linesmen can't get to the QB. Also, AJ can't get open with 2-3 people on him at all times. Why? No threat on the opposite side. If only Armstrong has more speed to be anything but a slot receiver. We need 1 speed guy and then we should just have a 3 receiver set on offense. I love the idea of having a first pick, and have NO PROBLEM whatsoever picking Reggie Bush. I hope the Texans don't trade down, as nice as it might sound to get a couple offensive linemen. I hope DD has some trade value. Our problem is the line (main problem, at least)..., BOTH lines. We can't force turnovers on defense because we can't force the QB to pass. Fumbles are mistakes, interceptions can be created if pressure is put time after time.
