So my girlfriend and I are planning to go to S.A. next week but we are having trouble deciding which hotel to book.

We are looking for something on the Riverwalk that has self parking preferably with a garage and reasonable rates, any advice from you guys that have been there before would be very helpful! thanks

We always used to stay at the Hyatt on the riverwalk. That was in the late 90's though. Nice hotel. It has a small pool on the roof.

I had stayed at the Hyatt right on the river a few years back, it was extremely nice, but very expensive (about $200 a night) They do have their own parking, which if I remember right, we had to pay extra for.

If you're looking for something that worth the money and is real close to downtown, there's a Red Roof Inn within walking distance. I stayed there on a trip I think 2 years ago, $80 a night, and the place was very clean.

-Hotel Valencia is a great place, it is on Houston St. and may be a bit pricey. I don't beleive they have self parking.
-The Gunther Sheraton is also on Houston and really nice. They should have self parking.
-A new Embassey Suites just opened on the RW about a year ago (maybe less). Haven't been in there, but Im sure its nice. Not sure about self parking.
-Hotel Contessa is a great place, and is in the heart of DT.
-La Mansion Del Rio, awesome view if you have room facing RW.

So many hotels, to choose from DT.

My Husband and I stayed at Drury Inn and Suites Riverwalk about a month ago and were more than pleased....

    Free Breakfast
Free Drinks daily (up to 3 per guest)
    Free Snacks
    Free Soda and Popcorn daily

They had a roof top pool and hot tub... Great place for the price!!!

There's another Drury Inn over near Fiesta Texas that has all the same deals. I recently stayed there and it was great.

I liked the Contessa a lot. Wasn't expensive either.

Some really nice hotels are mentioned so far but we're on a budget haha.

    I'm looking for something that's around $100-120/night

The Hyatt is really nice. Expensive, but nice.
In another note, since when did it become standard for hotels to have HD tvs? Awesome addition...

Stayed at the Westin last summer and it was good, not spectacular. My advice is to go through Priceline though unless you are really picky.

The Westin does allow self parking in the garage across the street, don't remember the rates though. And the lot was full during the day a lot.

It's typically a bait and switch, though. They'll have HDTVs, but not HD programming, so what's the point really? SD programming looks worse on an HDTV than it does on a regular television.

Red Roof Inn, doesn't have the name of a Drury Inn or Hyatt, but rooms look relatively new, and very clean.

stayed at the Gunter Sheraton the first night of our honeymoon; it has self parking. Wanted you to pay for wifi; fortunately Hotel Valencia's was close enough to reach. :)

And that cinnamon bun is horrible.

    Try Luther's Inferno Burger...

Best advice, unless you have to stay at a specific hotel, Priceline & Hotwire will give you the best deals for your money.
