I saw a show on Animal Planet where some scientists videoed some chimps making specialized tools to get termites out of a termite mound. They would take two branches. The first one they would use to poke a long hole into the mound. The second one they would use their teeth to strip it into a kind of a brush, which they would use to stick into the hole they made. The bristles were small enough for the termites to bite on to. The scientists ended up figuring out that the chimps were able to get 10x more termites to eat this way.
Where did that ORANGUTAN get the spear? He didn't make it. If he had a straight stick, and we could see the stumps, we could say he is making his own spear. Some species did not evolve, as suggested by research that finds that humans followed an evolution far more advanced than that of chimpanzees and other species. We as humans generated tools, created shelters, revolutionized hunting and gathering, etc. When looking at the gene tree of the species we now call "humans", we can... ... oh, what the eff, man... why are you asking such difficult questions...?
