What happened to the random trade thread? Anyway, here goes:

Houston receives Chris Bosh, Eddy Curry
Toronto receives Danilo Gallinari, Darko Milicic, Luis Scola, Rockets 2010 draft pick
New York receives Tracy McGrady, Brian Cook

Houston gets Bosh plus a ton of cap space in 2011 when Curry, Yao, and Shane's contracts are up (just in case Yao can't stay healthy - we have the flexibility to blow everything up and build around Bosh and our young players).

Toronto gets to add to its foreign legion of players (guys who don't actually mind playing across the boarder).

New York gets the cap space it needs to go after two major free agents, plus re-sign David Lee.

    Thoughts?

Why would New York do this?? Without danillo, who would possibly want to sign a free agent contract with the Knicks next season? It's not like he's their lottery pick who is shooting about 70% from downtown or anything....

If the Knicks have the money to sign two All Stars those two players would attract each other. LeBron or Wade or Bosh aren't going to NY just play with Gallinari.

    Just to play along:

Houston can't trade its 2010 1st rounder right now. After the team drafts someone, that pick (now, with an actual drafted player attached) can be moved.

Although Houston has, like, a LOT of 2nd round dudes supposedly getting better overseas, to play in the NBA one day. Include one or two of them?

Taking Curry to get Bosh is an interesting desperation play. Not gonna happen anyway.

Wow, this is fun! OK, back to work.

Why would get rid of Scola? He is one of the best players we have. And to get Bosh??? Hell no

We need an athletic big man!!

Someone like Bosh. I don't know if Morey could work some magic and get him for T-mac but someone with his skills would allow us to really flourish.

We need a big, huge rebounder. Sigh, too bad Chuck Hayes isn't 7'0

    Athletic big man? Pops.

Why didn't we play him, but instead put Brian Cook in? I have no idea whatsoever...

We need a legitimate big man who can play solid defense.

David Anderson is definitely NOT that guy.

I'm assuming that all the salaries match. It makes sense for 2 of the 3 teams involved. Even if Bosh makes it clear to Toronto that he's leaving, you'd think that Toronto could do better than Scola for Bosh (I don't consider Gallarini much of an asset).

Why do people make these threads without having a core explanation of why teams would go through with the desired trade?

C'mon man. Let's be smart here.
