Hey y'all, the girlfriend of a buddy of mine in Amsterdam is coming down to Houston for a few months to work at Ben Taub. I was wondering if you lot down in Houston can recommend places around the hospital and the area in which she can rent an apartment. What are some decent areas to live around there, any apartment complexes or sites to find apartments in the specific area that you know of. (Craigslist is one).
    Thanks guys.

How much is she looking to pay per month? That will dictate where she can live immensely.

Holly Hall has a lot of affordable and decent stuff. The closer you get to 288, not so great.

There are several on Almeda near Old Spanish Trail. They are decent quality and not too expensive. I lived at Versailles Park for a while.

Look at Brompton between Holcombe and Braeswood.

Here's one search site from Google :

    http://www.apartmentwiz.com/houston...h_areas/houston_medical_center_apartments.php

If she finds a place near the light rail, that can be a help. Parking is expensive and difficult in the Medical Center.

There are a lot of apartment complexes south of the Medical center, East of the Astrodome and Reliant stadium. However, this area does not have restaurants, shopping, nice grocery stores or nightlife. For these amenities, a person might choose to live elsewhere - in Montrose, Midtown, or near West U, Bellaire, or Highland Village, in ascending price.

There are about 4 billion apartment complexes in that area. Price/transportation/security are quite variable.

There is not much difference in price on holly hall going from fannin to 288. It is not a long stretch of road and near 288 is mostly condos. So wtf am I missing here.

    Pasox, thanks for the site.
Biggiestuff you w****, :D she has a man already, but she's from Poland so I can ask if she'll have any girl-friends visiting from Poland or Amsterdam.
