I'm curious if any of you know of a good store to buy movies at. The kind of of stuff you have to buy online from Best Buy sometimes. Indie flicks and Criterion Collection stuff. In College Station, I usually found these kinds of films at Hastings, but I dont' think we have one in Houston.

Try Ebay. I bought an uncensored "Ken Park" DVD from there a few weeks ago.

    Ken Park? What's that?

Before people suggest anymore online places, I know I can find any movie online. But sometimes, I find things by just browsing through the rack and find things that aren't on my mind.

Works for me too when I shop online, but like I said, I'm looking for place I can walk into and stumble accross movies I've never even heard of.

Cactus is a start, but that's on the other side of town.

Suncoast has a much larger selection than Best Buy and the other usual retail outlets, but the prices are really inflated.

    Tell me about it.

Ahh, SunCoast, they were expensive. I'm pretty sure the one in the Galeria is gone and I think there was one in West Oaks, but it's long gone too if it ever existed.

There's still one down in Baybrook Mall if you're willing to make the trek. ;)

Yeah, I just looked it up on the website myself. Man, Friendswood. I can't remember the last time I took 45 any further than Humble.

This just sucks, it seems like you can't discover movies on your own. You need somebody to tell you what interesting or cool or classic and then order it online. Well, I'll hit up Cactus on Saturday. If I get a job in houston after college, I need to move inside the loop.

Barns and Noble has a pretty good selection of lesser known flicks and have a bunch of criterion discs. However their prices are full retail unless they are having a sale.

Movie Trading Company is pretty good as well and has good prices.

Movie Trading Company sounds good. I went to the one on I-10 once but only had 10 minutes to browse. I see there's one on Westheimer, that's perfect.
