Texas is long overdue for a big hurricane, so I'll say that it slams right into the middle of the Texas coast... This b**** ain't messing around...
I'll put some "virtual money" on the Texas coast... supposedly that little front that blew threw last night will add fuel to the hurricane's fire... hmmm, got batteries, water, etc??
Forecasters say it'll hit Brownsville or southward...so, knowing how good weathermen are...I'll say Hilton Head.
reminds me of Hurricane Gilbert in that it was so well formed so well out...not that kinda strength or wind velocity, but still looks like a mutha to deal with! i have no idea where it will go...once it gets into the western gulf, it's something we all need to be watching pretty closely....
Well we just had a "cold" front come through Austin(the weather is absolutely fantastic now!) which could have an effect on Isidore coming far toward Texas. We'll see.
If the front hit it - well, technically, "picked" the storm up - it would send it off to the north or northeast at a rather fast clip. As for strength, it'd likely hinder any further strengthening through tropical process, but not necessarily weaken it unless it was a rather vigorous front (which, all in all, it isn't). As for now, this front isn't likely to pick up Isidore; it's another wave of energy down the road that would cause the nothward shift. How fast the storm moves between now and then will be the determining factor whether it gets picked up, stalls, or continues west 5 days down the road.
I figure since I will be vacation in Hilton Head SC next week, it will take a due north turn and head up the Atlantic coast.
