This isn't exactly Rocket related, but any PFs on the block should be news for us. They gave up Armstrong for nothing, maybe we could do the same.

PJ is a much better rebounder than MoT/Howard and can consistently hit the mid-range jumper, but so could MoT and Howard.

    Howard/cash for PJ?

No, it makes too much sense for the Rockets to actually execute something like that. Weatherspoon, Taylor, or Howard just needs to step it up a little bit more:)

Do we still have the TE?

Any team that is looking to rebuild would probably love to have some extra money sitting around.

Maybe send Lue and the TE for Brown, that is if the salaries match. Lue's contract is up at the end of this season, and we have AB now.

I have been saying Taylor for Brown makes sense since the end of summer.

They have nearly identical contracts. The Hornets are pathetic and in need of offense. Taylor is a guy who could average 15-18 PPG if he started. The only reason he doesn't do that here is because of JVG's stat killing "system."

We need his toughness, defense and rebounding. He's one of the toughest players in the league. He's strong, he's a workhorse and he doesn't get hurt. The only drawback is his age.

admittedly PJ's defense and rebounding was be a nice addition (Cato like) but didn't he sign an extension recently and isn't he getting pretty old

Realgm says PJ has 2 years left on his contract. PJ is old, but if you're looking for one player to fit into a JVG system, it is PJ>

As HotRocket said, if the Hornets are really looking to rebuild, the TE could be very valuable to them.

Can anyone confirm if we still have a TE?

Doesn't work that way. Brown makes more than the exception.

No thanks on PJ Brown. 8 million this year for 8-8. He's already 35. He'll be 37 in the last year, making 9 mill or so. I suppose I'd trade MoT for him straight up, but not much else.

That's right, but his contract is pretty similar to Mo's. Mo is much younger, so NO might be interested in making a straight up trade, maybe even give us a 2nd round pick with it.

Would make perfect sense for us, I think, since Mo and Howard are so redundant. PJ might be just about the only person in the league you could trade Mo straight up for.

I think this would be a GREAT deal for the rox. I have wanted PJ for quite a while now, a physical, bruising, athletic 4. He is definitely better than the stiffs we have at 4. I really hope CD pulls this off, cuz wotherwise, I dont see any other possibilities on the horizon.

I'm sure the Hornets would jump at the TE, but can the Rockets justify another PF earning big bucks..... sure Brown would be the best fit and a very honest player and if he only has 2 years left but surely we would have to part with one of our other useless Soft Forwards

Brown definitely looks pretty good for our situation. If we can't get him I'd still like to see us make some kinda effort to get Aaron Williams, who hasn't gotten more than 4 minutes in New Jersey's last 9 games. They're begging to give him away at this point...

Yep, I agree. One of Taylor, Howard, or Spoon would have to go. I doubt they would take Howard (contract length and size). But they could use some Mo offense (pun intended), and if his contract is similar to PJ, both teams win.

I think that before this year... most of us... if given the choice... would rather have had Howard than PJ Brown. He isn't any sort of solution for the ROX this year or for the remainder of his contract. Our best option... IMP... is to play small ball with Padgett at PF.

NIKE, I like PJ, but you are right, he is making a lot of money. I wouldnt take PJ's salary on my roster unless I could give up one of our PFs and Taylor makes the most sense.

The Hornets are looking to cut bait here and get younger. Taylor is younger than Brown and provides offense something Byron Scott is looking for on a team that is having trouble scoring these days because of their injuries.

If I were the Rockets, I would inquire about PJ for Taylor.

    Taylor for PJ Brown

We really need a rebounder, I think PJ would be great but as previously said we also need to get rid of Mo's contract so NO could do that

NIKEstrad man usually i would agree with you and your sig is funny as it gets, but man you wouldnt want to get PJ Brown because he has an 8 Mill contract and he's 35? Mo Taylor for PJ Brown, I agree - you do it. For the exception and Nachbar or Spoon or whoever else beside Sura, Mcgrady, Yao, Jackson - you still do it. First of all have you ever seen PJ Brown up close? well i haven't either but from far away the dude looks to be in tip top shape. He's not by any means floundering out there. When I think PJ Brown at 35 I think Kevin Willis at 35 and you know Kevin Willis could still get it done at 35. And only a 2yr contract - shoot thats nothing. Worst case scenario, next year, you have a player in the last year of his contract making the big bucks who another team will be willing to take on with the desire to clear cap space the following year, ala glen rice. man we have to get involved in these dealings, even if its just to stick it to Weisbrod.

New Jersey is the only team in the league with a worse PF rotation than our's. If this guy can't even play over who....Jason Collins? What makes you think he would succeed here?

I'de give them any of our garbage (Taylor, Howard, Spoon) but the Hornets wouldn't go for that. All 3 guys suck and have worse or equal contracts to Brown, so what do the Hornets stand to gain?

I wouldn't give up the 1st rounder or waste the TE (then again they'll probably just let it expire this summer while watching Dallas trade an expiring contract for Kobe Bryant) because these stop gap deals are exactly what have put us in this whole mess. We need to assemble some young talent.
