Just go to Lombardi's. You don't need to taste the second and lower places.

Lombardi's is good stuff. I'd also recommend Arturo's (the plain cheese pizza is awesome), John's Pizzeria (on Bleecker), and Pizza 33 (the original on 33rd St.).

Lombardi's is good just so long as the coal soot is kept to a minimum.

my personal faves include Joe's on Carmine and BLeeker, as well as Nino's pizza on Ave A and St Marks place....

Queens residents will agree that Dani's pizza in Kew Gardens is the best in the borough... few who disagree mysteriously disappear and end up in barrel drums....

Don't go to Lombardis. Go to the Spring Lounge down the street and get Lombardi's to deliver. After they renovated Lombardi's dining room it now has the charm of a TGIFriday's.

I live across from Pizza 33 and while it is good, it doesn't hold a candle to Vezzo on Lex &31 (opened last year) or Posto 2nd & 18th . They are sister restos (there's a third in the EV that I forget) but they make the best thin crust pizza I've had, and their ingredient quality is very very high.

Sorry, but for the best pizza you will need to go to Brooklyn. Get off the F or V train at Carroll Gardens. Go to Nino's Pizzaria.
