Completely different scenario... and it won't be as black/white as a small UCL in terms of a future pitching injury/surgery required.

Any chance DMo is lying about pain so he doesnt have to move to Detroit

"Does this hurt", doctor. "ow,,,,ow...yes Doc that hurts. The Houston docs never tested me this way", DMo

I'm surprised the usual suspects have not brought this up as a conspiracy theory--DMo is faking the pain because he wants back to houston to play for his loyal fans like holic Btg and DD

It's amazing to see the 180 all the chicken littles have pulled. As if it was completely foreign knowledge that DMo had a bad back and perhaps the Rockets were trying to salvage something useful for him since it was looking unlikely that he'd ever be back at full strength to help them significantly now.

Actually find the news about it, very similar indeed.

    Morey's favorite game.

He's in the office doing that right now.

The people who were complaining earlier are going to complain either way. If it's not voided then they're going to keep on with their "Morey screwed up, Leslie is a cheap owner, and we're a badly ran organization. If the trade is voided then it's going to be "well, I guess Morey, the GM, knew more than I, the fan, did and now we have a broken Donuts and no first round pick."

Steve Patterson would have never been put in this position. We need to go find him because instead of being put in a lose-lose situation we would have been put in a win-win situation!

this article from yesterday seems to suggest that its just about the logistical challenge of seeing multiple doctors in two cities in a quick time period

I haven't been reading the Patterson thread, but do people forget that he's the guy who pushed Hakeem into demanding a trade and would have happily sent him packing, but only avoided it because trade talks broke down and Patterson had no other option but genuflect before Hakeem?

Hakeem for Stanley MF'ing Roberts and Danny Manning? Has Morey ever done anything even approaching that level of stupidity?

I think this might be the case. There's no way a player can be out since nearly this time last year to now over a non-major issue. This is major. It's like they are trying to repair a total loss vehicle, which is possible, and probably did their best to weld the structural frame that was mangled.

Caught how? Any team that didn't know he had a bad back, was recovering from back surgery and suffered some setbacks in his recovery deserves whatever they get.
