Whoa, that was unexpected. I thought Afflalo plaid pretty well for them and wasn't Sharpe their selection last year?

good move by denver they lose Dahntay Jones and replace him with a similar player in Afflalo (though Arron cant attack the rim Jones did)

Sorry for the double post **played** not plaid.

Denver's getting 2 pretty good players though for a future second rounder.

Ive always liked Afflalo. If he ever gets comfortable he has the mentality to become a Mario Elie type personality. Wouldn't have minded trading our 2nd pick for Afflalo.

Bingo. As soon as the staff heard Dahntay's demands they started looking around. Front office was high on Affalo coming out of UCLA so when they heard he was available they went for it.

I know nothing, but I doubt Sharpe even makes it to training camp.

You guys got a pretty good deal. Afflalo is younger and better than Dahntay. All it took was a crummy 2nd round pick.

Afflalo definitely improved after his rookie season.

Wasn't Sharpe an early 2nd rounder last year? He still might be good.

I'd say better. I loved Dahntay, but he got vastly overrated due to the first round series against NO.

    Nugs

I've watched every game Arron played at UCLA he is a good defender.

    the bad side to Arron?

he doesnt drive too much, his handles are limited, his shot is inconsistent BUT he has improved his stroke since joining the NBA (no more hitch in his shot)

and unfortunately he always tended to shy away in the big moments of games and at least at UCLA if he wasnt scoring the ball well it tended to affect the rest of his game...he wouldnt rebound, defend as well etc.

Sounds like a younger version of Dahntay who is cheaper. Win/win. Plug him in for 12 mpg. I'm not expecting anything other than a slightly above replacement level player here.

Good pickup by the Nuggs. I tend to always ball it up with Afflalo on 2k9.

For some reason, I always thought it was Affalo.

Afflalo is D. Jones' replacement, but he won't get the starting nod like Jones did. It'll be interesting to see J.R. Smith in the starting rotation next season at the 2 guard. He can explode for 25+ points on any given night by knocking down the three-ball or by maneuvering through the lane to throw down massive dunks. He's a playmaker, and he's extremely confident. I love his game.

Is it just me or is the Denver GM becoming better and better and Dumars is becoming suckier and suckier with every passing day?

Used to be that the Denver GM traded three future picks for maxed K-Mart, offered Nene and an outrageous amount of money even while he had glassman Camby in his lineup. Nowadays he's stealing guys from other teams or getting guys nobody wants (Ty Lawson, Birdman).

Dumars on the other hand has made sucky move after sucky move. I was in favor of trading Billups, but I thought he would wait until next summer to cash in his money. Personally I'd rather have Billups than Gordon and Villanueva. Piston's roster is so unbalanced their two best players play the same position lol.

Nuggets come out smelling like a rose. Instead of paying a low-skilled, no-upside player like Dahntay Jones, they get Afflalo. Very smart move that could end up being a great move.
