Its out today and of course I will pick it up on the way home from work. BBhas it for $15.99. Saw it at the movies and thought it was great. I remember thinking that this is going to be a cool ass DVD. Hope it lives up to my expectations. What did everyone else think?
Heck, I'm gonna get it just for the Johnny Depp commentary alone. Knowing him, I'm sure he'll have some interesting things to say about the movie (that is, assuming he speaks up in the commentary). Anyone listen to the Mallrats commentary track? Freaking hilarious. Jay Mewes (otherwise known as Jay) is drunk the entire time and passes out halfway through the film...
I'll probably buy Pirates, Nemo, and Master and Commander. But that's it for this year. All three were great.
I talked my fiancee into going, she was dead set against seeing it. And now, she is going to buy the DVD today, it was a great flic.

I was a little confused by that too, but I took it as the whole ship was being emptied for the most part. So it didn't really matter. He was in command of an empty ship. Kind of like a last resort militia. If had gotten to the point where their own ship was being taken it would have been a lost cause anyway.
Last DVD I bought was finding Nemo the day it came out, now I gotta go and grab this one too. Pirates of the Carribean was a very good movie.
The 1985 classic "Young Sherlock Holmes" also makes its appearance on DVD today. I never got around to seeing Pirates of the Carribean in the theaters. I'll check it out on video.
I had tickets to go watch that movie and everything, i feel so stupid for leaving that movie... I guess this is when my employee discount at CC (circuit city) comes into use.
So the children were nobles right? When they serve in the navy they get to be officers. And most rise up to become captain or whatever. So the one that committed suicide never got promoted because he had confidence issues, so he's the same rank as the kids.

One of the interesting things about M&C is its absolute realism. Back then, you didn't become an officer through merit, but through nobility / blood lines. Thus, kids often were ranked above adults.

I didn't see this movie at the theatre, I thought it would stink. I know I was wrong about my pick, so I bought it on DVD. I haven't got to watch it yet though, I expect a good flick.
The movie was so awesome, I downloaded the pirate song for a ringtone on my phone.... hehehe... Can't wait to get the DVD for christmas!
