Ever been to a game there? It's a football/baseball stadium right smack in the middle of Crapland, USA.
Terry Tate, where are you when we need you? http://reebok.com.edgesuite.net/lastexit_streaker_dsl.wmv
I went to an A's game vs. Kansas City, last time I was in the Bay Area, in 2000. Took BART from my hotel in SF to the game. When I got off the train, I thought I was in a war zone. The stadium is 2-3 stops past downtown Oakland, which is no shining diamond in and of itself, but the neighborhood gets worse and worse as you get closer to the stadium. By the time you are there, you literally want to run from the train stop to the stadium. However, I'll bet the surroundings add a certain panache to Oakland Raider games!
These pictures, together with the action, don't tell a story, although it seems like there may have been some costume changes in between. Were the first or the last pictures from a dress rehearsal??? I don't know... Did he get caught AFTER he put on the black jacket, or did security put it on him? On Picture 2, he's laughing like he's having a blast, and so is the guy behind the fence. EDIT: Are these 2 dudes, or just one?
Luckily these two were aware that this is the only way for us anglos to tell them apart and thankfully they decided to have one cornrow his hair for our sake. Thanks fellas /I keed I keed
I was at this game. Our chants of "let's go Yankees" were great, it certainly didn't seem like a home game for the A's. Randy Johnson didn't manage one strikeout. There were originally 3 people that ran onto the field, I think, but one of them went right back to the stands. The guy with the shirt tried to climb the right field wall to get back into the stands but Eric Byrnes grabbed him and pulled him down with one of the security guards. The guy in the diaper was running all over the place. There were about 6 security guys chasing him and he was just toying with them. Eventually they just formed a loose circle around him and slowly moved in until they could wrestle him down. Two big flies from Tino must have driven them over the edge, it sure put the fear of Tino into the A's pitching because they intentionally walked him twice after that.
