Hayesfan, guess you might be interested. Chuck Hayes spent an afternoon on Mar 27 to visit a local hosipital with Rockets CEO, Tad Brown. The Sohu photographer, MuGong, took some pictures from the event. http://sports.sohu.com/20090328/n263058057.shtml In total 38 photos can be found from the link above.
Aww that's nice! Thanks for posting... I will go look at all of the pics. Nursing homes and hospitals are the two places that celebs go that are closest to my heart. There is nothing better than to see someone who is sick or hurting light up when they see someone they respect or even just someone that they didn't expect to visit walk through their door.
I just hate that they take a camera man for events like these... It makes it a publicity stunt, regardless if the actions are genuine...
To be fair, Sohu.com does not work for Rockets and I am yet to find any relevant news from rockets.com. PR show or not, you can tell from the picture that the kid looks genuinely happy and tha's enough said.
Yeah, I'm sure these kids were really turned off by someone paying them enough attention to take their picture with a professional basketball player . . It's about them, that's the bottom line.
Are you in one of the photos? There are others with the hospital staff escorting Hayes around the building.
yeah i think he was laughing and the camera caught him with his head down or something...chuck always shows up for things like this. I'm gald there's still ball players out there who don't b**** about money and are genuinely happy just to be where they're at and like to help out.
Article in the Chron: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/6347165.html And yes... I teared up.
Was anybody else's first reaction upon reading the thread title, "Oh $%^*, what the hell happened to him?!". Being a Rockets fan trains you to expect these sort of things.
LOL at Baller4life's comment. Its the sad truth. And kudos to Chuck. Chuck Hayes you are a badass. Easily my favorite Rocket.
lol i hope theres no alcohol. As far as media goes, they suck a$$ when it comes to this. When the Rockets came to UH to give out supplies following Ike, the media was really slowing us down. At the end of the day, its about helping the people, rather than showing that you're helping.
