I'm more curious about the rotation than I am about the cuts. Please pick the 8 players you think will form the core part of the rotation, to begin the season. I think the rotation will be 9 man, but I wanted to make this hard, so limited to 8.

I'm struggling on how to make this poll work, never done one.

    My picks are

    Yao
    Scola/hayes
    Battier/Bonzi
    Tmac
    Rafer/James

the 9th guy will be Francis or Butler, depending on the matchup and need for the night.

IN ORDER FOR THIS TO WORK, I THINK EVERYONE NEEDS TO SELECT 8 FOLKS IN THE POLL. (yao and tmac should have 100 percent of the vote i'm assuming) some folks need to make sure they've voted properly

I'd say 9 players in the rotation (with SF3)

You forgot to include Luther Head, though I don't think he'd be in the top 8 anyways.

If everyone is healthy, based on what we've heard from training camp and two preseason games, its Yao, McGrady, Battier, Alston, Scola, Bonzi, James, and Hayes. The good news for Luther Head and Steve Francis is that both McGrady and Bonzi are injury prone and figure to miss a decent number of games. When that happens, my worry is that become an extremely small team (especially if both of them are injured for a significant time, which isn't a stretch).

I think Mutombo and Butler will only see minutes if Yao, Scola, and Hayes are in foul trouble or we are facing a really big team.

I voted the same as you to abide by the conditions of the poll, but Francis will be a significant factor nonetheless.

I can't see any way we run less than 9 without injuries.

Sorry for the double post, but it's a ****ed up world when Scola and Alston have more votes than Yao & McGrady.

I think at the beginning of the season it will be hte 9 from above minus Butler/Mutombo. Francis will only have limited minutes until he gets used to the system. I could see Alstons minutes drop after some time and Francis minutes increase. Mutombo will only come in to give Yao a breather, and Butler won`t contribute much this year, if none of the big guys get hurt.

It will be interesting to see the role of Luther Head.

Butler is questinable to make the team , he won't be in the rotatation.
We will have a 9 men rotation with also Deke playing a little.

    I think we play a 9 man rotation, so I selected 9.

Leaving out Luther was a big mistake for this poll as many people here would vote for him. You should have listed the entire roster except for Sura, Reed and JL3 and let everyone choose. The results could have been surprising.

Forget the poll, I'll just list mine:

    Rotation Players:
    Tracy
    Yao
    Shane
    Scola
    MJ
    Bonzi
    SF
    Chuck
    Luther

    Splinter Group:
AB, Harris, Deke, Landry, Traylor (I mean Butler), Novak

    Cut Bait or Traded
    JL3, Snyder, Sura, Reed

Rafer and Snyder will be gone eventually because SF will eventually figure it out. If Rafer stays around he takes Luther's rotation spot and pushes him into the lead man of the Splinter Group.

can only list 10 folks; max number of poll options. i should have made the last choice :"other"

but i have a hard time thinking that head will crack the top 8, which is the premise of this poll (perhaps flawed, but wanted to make it hard.

    Roataion IMO:

    YAO/Butler/Mutombo
    Scola/Hayes/Landry
    Battier/Bonzi/Snyder
    Tmac/Francis/Head
    Alston/James/Brooks

Inactive will most likely be Mutombo, Landry, Snyder.

actually it does ask for the top 8, so head wouldnt be included, but he would get more votes than francis. you shouldve asked for 9 playesr.

Seeing Mike James chuck up shot after shot against Panathanaikos, I doubt he'll stay in the rotation if he keeps it up in the regular season. Hell, he doesn't even pass the ball coming down the court at times.

It would DEFINITELY be a 9-man rotation for the rockets at the beginning...deke or some other big may get a few minutes but that'snot counting towards the rotation.

Who are the 3 or 4 people that do not vote Yao and TMac in an 8 man rotation?
