New York is open for business. My bet is, Morey is doing some shopping. It was reported last week that NY would be trading Randolph sometime this week to get a pick. There were a few teams mentioned, not Houston. But today..... http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/news/story?id=6030523
i would say no. what's the point to get another role player? in the past, dm traded for and drafted a few good role player coz we had yao and tmac. now, the focus should be on getting one or two super stars.
Yes for Chandler, no for AR. it would end up being a rental because AR will be a restricted FA. give them the pick and Jeffries for Chandler
This would be like the smaller part of a big trade. If Denver agrees to send Melo to NY, then the pick goes to Denver along with players from our team for lets say Nene + fillers.
If Walsh is looking for multiple picks, i'm sure Morey was one of the people he spoke to. Morey is one of their best customers. You have to look beyond the words my friend.
Chandler, who was ungive-away-able in October will be an expensive re-sign with his next (new CBA) contract. WC is the unsung hero of the Knixies renaissance. If he's good enough to be in demand why might the Nugs not demand him? System? Cost? Randolph? Didn't he used to play Nellie Ball before falling completely out of sight?
there is no reason to get another solid role player unless you're thinking either or both are super star. but i don't see it is the case. what we need to do is getting under the cap as much as we can, high lottery picks, or a super star. i don't see any good thing to get chandler. he is just a good player, not a player of game change type.
That part was speculation based on the fact that there are no other players on the team worth a pick. Outside of the players involved in the possible Denver deal.
nowadays, rox has to change their strategy to get a player at the moment yao went down with injury in this season. yao's era is over. the foundation is gone. we need to rebuild our foundation through free agent market or draft.
3 Way: NY Gets: Carmelo Al Harrington Houston Gets: Wilson Chandler A. Randolph Eddy Curry Denver Gets: Yao (and $8 million in insurance) Jordan Hill D. Gallinari 2012 NY First Round pick (from Houston) $3 million cash from NY While not quite the haul of the NJ deal, Denver saves $$$ by dumping Harrington's contract, and the $8 million Yao insurance payment. Houston loses the insurance money, but makes most of that back in the form of salary savings plus savings by getting under the luxury tax.
I'm confused, what are you implying by saying "but today..." Sounds like you're saying Houston is in the mix now, maybe even for chandler. Maybe i missed it, but there's no mention of houston or chandler. Nothing is different today.
I want both Chandler and Randolph, maybe we can get both for Battier and Jeffries + their own draft pick(back)... With Amare Stoudemire being the face of the franchise, NY has gone in a "Win now" mode and Battier and Jeffries would be a welcomed addition to a weak defensive team....
Last week they were looking to get a pick for Randolph, only. This week they are sure they could get more than one pick. So i'm assuming that another player could be had for a pick(Chandler?).
