IF I HEAR ONE MORE PERSON SAY THAT THEY ARE ABOUT TO "GET JIGGY WITH IT" I'M GONNA SCREAM! There are several phrases that the pseudo hip embrace that are just old and tired. More examples... "bootylicious" "you go girl" "I heard that!" any more?
"WAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZUUUUUUUUPPP" or (for the Jim Rome listeners) War (insert your annoying phrase here)
When people quote pretty much anything Austin Powers says (and it's become a part of our dialogue), it's like fingernails to the chalkboard for me. When 90-year olds grandmothers are heard saying "Yeah, baby!" and "Oh, behave!", we have a serious problem on our hands. Now, Dr. Evil quotes... that's a different story...
three right off that really irritate me. You go girl! Whatever... Talk to the hand..(does anyone really say this?)
Here are some potential retirees: I ain't scurred Ya hurrrd? off the heezy fuh sheezy I'd like to give a shout out to..... Don't hate the player, hate the game (AB you recently used an abbreviation of this. You are guilty.) and to think I don't embrace the hip hop culture.... I'm fly.
Not really a 'phrase', but, from basketball play-by-play: 'he's headed to the bench for a well-deserved blow'
Dang TJ, I'm impressed. And to think that all this time I thought you were "Cooper" in that expedia.com commercial!
One of my friends daughters has a black teacher. When the kids are talking nonsense, he will hold out his hand with his palm facing the kids and say "talk to the white man" (he then turns his hand around) "cuz the black man ain't listening".
where do you people live????? i haven't heard anyone utter these nonsensical phrases in years! please jump back in the Delorean and promptly return to 2002.
Which is why they should be retired, maybe? Maybe next we'll do "antiquated movie references", any ideas D?
"you know what I'm sayin" It's fine if used once in a conversation but the way these kids use it today is rediculous.
My point was they've already been naturally retired due to becoming antiquated many years ago. Therefore if you are still hearing them, you must be living in the past. It was a small attempt at humor. I guess it wasn't communicated well.

originally posted by TheFreak "Let's not go there"
That reminds me: Most of my wife's friends think I need to retire this phrase, "Don't go in there."
"houston, you have a problem" how played out is that line??? i love how every time a houston sports team loses, reporters play that line...or people bring signs to the games that say that...very original, fellas. it was cute when apollo 13 was playing at your local theater. see if you can come up with a new one.
