they are not laying down for us. Expect to see the regular Phoenix team unless the game gets out of hand.

They should be playing hard, and they should be fronting Yao hard. We really need the practice and win tough games to build up for the playoffs. Bring them on!

Why wouldn't they rest up a bit, now that they just had HCA secured, yesterday? They have nothing to play for, I don't think they will play at full intensity. The starters might even get les time.

Coach D'Antoni told me this morning when I asked him. That's how I know that.

They would prefer us to be in a tougher situation and would rather play Utah(if they stay around in the Playoffs)

The Suns certainly aren't going to lay down for us, but I'm 100% sure that Nash will see limited minutes.

In the 30's and I'd bet (unless the game is out of hand)

Easy for him to say given he isn't the one laying his body out there every night. Fortunately he is not one of the players who will be on the court.

I really don't see Nash busting his a** like he has been doing to keep Phx ahead of SA. They have spent a lot of energy lately (e.g., back to back Lakers, Jazz wins).

MDA may talk tough, but I think his players won't go all out. It would have been a very different story if they still needed the game to clinch the #2 seed. Now an 80% Phx free wheeling and not paying any defense whatsoever can still smoke you if you are not on your game.

No coach would ever say "no, we're not going to play hard tonight."

Having nothing to play for didn't stop the Mavericks from playing their starters longer minutes than necessary en route to a victory over the Spurs, who were desperately trying to get home court advantage in the second round.

    KAS,

Any proof whatsoever? Oh and why can't this be in DaDa's "Are the Suns gonna play hard" thread?

The second you said "they'd rather play the Jazz" I had a feeling you were making all this up. They got owned by the Jazz this season, and they have owned us so far. It makes absolutely no sense for them to want to play us over the Jazz.

That was on national TV, I guess. Also a showcase for Dirk's MVP bid.

I talked to D'Antoni and he said he was joking when he said that to KAS13.

what do you expect him to say? We shall see how many minutes their main rotation is going to play. I think they will play scrubs for extended minutes.

I actually was listening to D'Antoni on a Phx radio broadcast and said that they would play the game normally with normal rotation and normal minutes because he was not willing to disrupt the chemistry of the team prior to the playoffs. I guess we'll see how it all pans out..
