To seatle for 8 Mil TE and a conditional 2nd round pick. The first round picks they give are 08 and 10's. Wow, they are cheap
http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/0720kurttraded-CR.html The Suns traded center Kurt Thomas this morning in a move that relieves some salary-cap pressure. Thomas goes to the Seattle SuperSonics, along with the Suns' own 2008 and 2010 first-round draft picks in exchange for a future conditional 2nd round pick and a trade exception, worth about $8 million.
this team is going to go down the drain. im promising you that nash will start to slow down this year. about the only asset they have is amare and barbosa now.
I don't see how anyone can justify their actions in recent years. Even the biggest homers must realize that winning isn't high on the priority list over in PHX.
so basically seattle was able to work this deal cause of rashard? pretty nice rebuilding start for them.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=txsunssonicstrade&prov=st&type=lgns more confirmation..same story. conditional 2nd rndr heading to phx.. but yeah, 2 1st's to seattle
Funny how PHX is giving away their picks to the pacific northwest rivals. At least they gave them to the "worst" teams.
That's a good deal for Seattle. I think Presti is doing a great job so far. They will be terrible this season but things will get better if Carlesimo is up to the task.
Don't forget about the TE. This still is a pretty bad deal on Phoenix's part, but those trade exceptions can be useful.
Looks like DennisCD was right. The west is getting easier. Phoenix sacrifices their future again. They are turning into the Rockets of last year, trading away their draft picks for cash.
Yeah, could be the prelude to something big. Kurt is the dead weight to them anyways. Their first next year is probably the low 20s, so that's like a early 2nd rounder. I dont think its that stupid.
Depends. The picks they are giving up (at least the 2008 one) is going to be a crappy #30 type pick - marginal talent at best. They also have Atlanta's pick next year, I believe, so they are fine there. It all depends on what they do with the trade exception. If they go and get Garnett, $8MM in cap space could be very appealing to Minnesota.
