After watching the first two playoff games between Suns and Spurs, I have to admit that they deserve it.

And I have to admit sadly that we could have been embarrassed by the Spurs had we made it.

I disagree. The Spurs rely too heavily on Tim Duncan. It's predictable. Every possesion they will look to give it to Duncan. The Suns did a great job of doubling down on the Spurs' big man and forcing other people to score. That strategy seemed to work for the first three and a half quarters. The Suns had plenty opportunities to take Game 2, but Emmanuel Ginobilli's three killed them. So I think that it would be unfair to say that we would have gotten embarrassed. One of the games that we played the Suns earlier this season showed that the Suns and the Rockets have problems closing out the games. We lead most of the way, but in the end it seemed as if both teams were trying to lose.

That's all about match up. Marbury for some reason just eats Tony Parker alive every time they meet. That's one reason why Yao will have a brighter future than Amare. Once Yao develops stamina and strength, he'll create match up problem for every other team in the league.

I think we would've had a legit chance against the Spurs. Anytime you have an All-Star at center and point guard, you have a chance. It's too bad Phoenix got in, although I truly don't think they were better than the Rockets.

Silly you, you don't realize how much Phoenix thoroughly outclassed the rockets this year. This is one of the great mediocre teams of ALL TIME. Indeed, had they only won a mere 30 more games, they would have broken the 96 Bull's 72-10 mark.;)

The Suns are just exposing the Spurs as the frauds they are. San Antonio is a lot like Minnesota. They have great regular seasons, and show their true colors in the playoffs.

I don't buy into that crap.

The suns are lucky they got matched up with the Spurs.. they're the one playoff team that PHX seems to have a matchup advantage against.

We did good against the Kings this year, and we stomped the Suns, why don't we deserve the spot?

The Kings are just as good as the Spurs, are they not?

True. Because Marbury and Marrion play a bettter brand of team-ball than Francis and Mobley.

But Yao is better than Amare. So there! :p

Francis/Yao have infinitely more potential than Marbury/Marion. I think Griffin will get good enough so that comparing him against Amare won't be a lopsided joke in future years.

Marbury is in his 7th season, and he's finally getting to the point where he's decent (anyone remember New Jersey?). Francis is in his 4th, and already is pretty much regarded as the better player... and he's not even in his prime yet (which Marbury arguably is).

I'd much rather have a marquee center than a SF that pulls down 9 rebounds a game.

Give it time. The Suns will be good for years to come, but the Rockets will be better. Look for the Jazz, Lakers, and Blazers to fade the next few seasons. And no, the Warriors aren't going to the playoffs in the next two years, unless they add some massive help (another few late bloomers like Murphy/Arenas, maybe Dunleavy? ha!) and manage to keep Arenas somehow.

great observation.... Could it be because they are in the Playoffs? Obviously the team that deserves it must be the team that makes it....

    ....this was sarcasm....;)

I'm hoping Steve becomes just as good as Starbury...

Not to interrupt here, but Marbury is only 1 day older than Stevie.

Both Marbury and Francis have their best years ahead of them.

The Suns deserved it because they busted their tails and they won when they needed to win to make then playoffs. The rockets on the other hand, didn't give much effort when we need to win in the crucial games. We played with no heart down the stretch...NONE. Its sad but we played alot harder the last 3 games after Phoenix clinched the playoffs.

it dosen't matter how old you ae. Experiece comes from how many years you play in the leauge not how old you are.
When a player plays in his 6th season I believe he hits his prime and conitunes till his 11th season and then starts to fade
