So one crappy bench outscored another crappy bench? I think Jackson is a great coach and all, but it's not like his team didn't get swept by the Mavs two years ago.
this was mentioned on the air on local LA sports talk radio... www.fa-mag.com/fa-news/12863-alan-alda-replacing-phil-jackson-at-schwab-impact-.html
so now we're gonna say Jarret Jack and Carl Landry are horrible now? Come on man. Just give them props, they outplayed that Warrior bench.
that team was coming off 3 straight finals. 60 playoff games in that duration. Thats almost a season worth of more games played than the rest of the team. They were tired, unmotivated and to top it off Kobe's knee was deteriorating...he had that Germany procedure after Phil left. The roster is completely different now compared to 2011 This years Kobe > 2011 Kobe This years Gasol = That year's Gasol This years Howard > THat year's Bynum This years Nash > That year's Fisher This years Hill = That year's Odom This years Jodie Meeks > THat years Shannon Brown This years' MWP > That years' MWP This year's Jamison > That years Luke Walton This years Blake = That year's Steve Blake there's more talent compared to that year and players are in a better mindset as well (MWP especially the wild card)
too much talent, too many excuses. the Lakers have been in trouble since the year they were swept. they were in trouble last year, and I believe the same circumstances will keep them in trouble this year. they just don't have the bench power and their starters wont be able to keep up.
Are we undervaluing Erik Spoelstra right now??? I remember some posters on here saying that any coach could have lead the Heats to the finals, no???
I would say no without an ownership stake and guaranteed long-term management role regardless of performance. Rambis has been a good soldier, maybe they should give him another shot.
Your optimism is admirable but misguided. Kobe, Gasol, and Artest are worse now than they were two years ago, simply because that's how aging works. Kobe in particular ALWAYS starts out seasons well and then mysteriously injures his wrist/knee/foot/fingers to give the commentators something to talk about all game. He'll end up shooting 43% again this year. And huge LOL comparing 2011 Odom (sixth man of the year) to journeyman scrub Hill. The Lakers have upgraded with Howard and Nash, although Nash under the triangle basically puts him in the DFish role. They still have no answer for athletic guards and swingmen, which is what did them in the last time PJ coached the team. The Lakers are far less athletic now than they were the last time they won the title, and unless they swing a trade to change this, they are a second round exit at best.
u are crazy if u think nash is better than fisher in the triple. and plus, fisher defense is 100x better than nash's.
