    He's just trying to motivate Kobe.. Squeeze and extra ring out of him. He's right though, Jordan was clearly better. Today's players and rules are weak compared to the 80's and 90's.

    Jordan was clearly better.....especially with the softening of the NBA.

    He might average 40+ under these rules.

    I watched Jordan for most of his career and now Kobe for all of his and Kobe isn't Jordan. That's not a bad thing, NO ONE will ever be Jordan again. Kobe is an all-time great but with Jordan it seemed like everyone was waiting to see something that hadn't been done before. With Kobe, you expect greatness but he doesn't in a different way. Hard to explain but really it's like saying Jordan was #1 while Kobe might be #7 ALL-TIME...rare air regardless.

    I really recommend reading Jackson's book "The Last Season". Talks pretty candidly about his experience coaching Kobe.

    There really hasn't been another player like Jordan, with Jordan's quickness and leaping ability AND shooting ability, I'm thinking mainly in Jordan's body type, remember that Jordan was a lanky guy. A lot of these players today that are great like Kobe and Lebron are more of a physical player. So no I haven't seen another player that reminded me of Jordan, but I do think that there will eventually be a guy that will be like him.

    The closest player to a jordan I've seen in the league was Reggie Miller.

    Phil gives Kobe the edge in "basketball skills" and outside shooting, but says Michael was stronger, had a bigger body & "million dollar" hands, and had the game's greatest inside game.
