PFT Week 4 Power Rankings 6. Texans (No. 14; 3-1): Are Texans good enough to win games without Andre Johnson? They apparently will get a chance to find out, if only for a few weeks. We are the 3rd ranked AFC team behind Baltimore(4) and New England(5)
I honetly believe were the best team in the AFC with a healthy Andre. Our defense is good enough to stop people. Who would have ever thought?
We are still 1 corner away from being able to slow down the God QB's (Brady, Rodgers, Brees, etc...) IMO.
Has they have for the past several years, I think NE will be exposed come playoff time. That defense is gosh-awful; Texan-like in its total terribleness. (And, frankly, I'm not entirely sure Baltimore's offense is that good.) I'm not ready to anoit the Texans the AFC's best (I might be tempted to go with Tennessee, right now, frankly - but I'm expecting a shoe to drop with them at some point) but I think the Texans might have the smallest question marks among the contenders. They can score; the can prevent scores; they play pretty decent special teams. If they can get out of their own way... (which I think will happen as they continue to rack up wins like this past weekend and gain confidence). I think they're going to suckerpunch the Ravens in two weeks.
ESPN has us back up to #6 - Steelers sink to #13. Titans jumped to #8 from 15. Colts lose but somehow move up one spot to #29.
People are skeptical on the Titans. I don't know... they added Ruud didn't they? Johnson, Iceberg and that TE of theirs will only get BETTER IMO. Aside from losing Britt, I see them improving each week. Did anyone see how they beat the Ravens? It's like ESPN hid that game from ever seeing the light of day.
If Britt hadn't got hurt, I'd be very pumped as a fan right now. Titans can still make the playoffs, but I think they will be one and done without Britt.
I think it's because they went toe-to-toe with the Bucs and almost beat them. It's not like they just rolled over and let Tampa Bay walk all over them. I don't care about these rankings... I'll just watch the games and evaluate the teams myself, but it's interesting to talk about why some would be better at this point than others... I'm just babbling now, like always (what's new?).
Ruud's just a name, a guy that got 100+ tackles a year, but they usually came a few yards later than desired. Their TE, Cook, at 6'5" and 4.5 speed is a matchup nightmare and hopefully they don't realize that too soon. The Colts moved up despite losing because I think it's clear they're still trying to win. The MNF was 3 quarters of snoozefest, but the 4th was enjoyable. And the colts were, well, battlefightin' till the end. Good kids just playing their hearts out, and they'll get better. /gk
