after the game vs Celtics, I don't think we should sign Mutombo cos he is not agile to guard the team which has a center capable of shooting mid-range jumper and a PF who can hustle the rebound, although Mutombo is good at blocking and rebounding.

Scola and Hayes, even Landry, comparatively, all are technical PF. They use skills to defend more than using muscle, and they are not tall enough. We need them, but we also need a guy who is capable of using his muscle to guard the paint, to protect the rebound. This guy should be taller with agility.

We will have the same problem facing Fakers and Utah, and even Hornets.

Can we find a guy like this in the league?

Yao also has problem with defending pick&roll, so does Mutombo. A big PF may solve this problem.

    Amen.

I don't want to rip Scola because it's not his fault that he's not athletic and that he is forced to start for us, but damn, we really need an upgrade from him. Hustle plays are nice, but the Lakers didn't start Kurt Rambis when they were winning titles did they? No, they had AC Green a solid, consistent PF who rebounded, defended and finished around the basket. Scola doesn't do these 3 things consistently well.

The problem is that I can't think of a PF we could bring that would help. I wish somehow we were able to keep Darrell Arthur, while being able to get Artest.

Backup Center and starting point guard are the positions that need upgrades

PF?. landry and scola were terrefic. especially luis. the problem is chuck is to small to be a backup C. also rafer is probaly the worst starting point guard in the league right now.

Give me a break. Starting PG is the problem by a country mile. There really isn't much debate about it. Scola gave 21/9 today and he's part of a problem?

I've heard it all now. If you can't see Rafer isn't a giant sinkhole on the Rockets, you can't see at all.

I nominate this as the stupidest thread so far this season.

Our PF are fine, I can still remember Howard and Weatherspoon trying to man the position. Our problem is starting PG and backup C, you'd be amazed how good our PFs are when they don't have to play C at times and are always with a 7ft on the floor be it Yao or Mutombo.

power forwards are great! garnett was held to 14 and scola had 21 pts and 9 rebounds.

yao had an offnight and rafer had 4 points. go figure?

    our PF position is awesome.

Luis was incredible tonight and Hayes kept KG in check pretty well.

Agreed. KG is a stud and an elite PF and Scola outplayed him. Rondo is far from a elite PG and Rafer couldn't check him.

Tonight was just an off night for Yao, Perkins should never ever be able to shut down Yao that easy.

Yao played with zero confidence and looked slower than molasses out there AND did not use his height.

Blocked at the rim, are you fricken kidding me?

What we need is a athletic 4/5 combo big....(a player that's athletic enough to run out and guard players like KG, but still big enough to defend the post)...can Dorsey be that player, maybe, but damn I wish he was just a couple of inches taller.
