According to Rob Lowe, seemingly serious. He does have connections to Manning and the Colts.

Peyton's agent claims that it's "news to him"....but not a flat denial.

    Hoax or for real?

I will say, I personally don't hold much hope for a full return. Two neck surgeries to relieve herniated disc pressure on a nerve in his neck. Vertebral fusion when arm strength didn't return. The worry I'd have is that there was already permanent nerve impairment - alleviating the pressure would no longer help. Existing nerves can strengthen and compensate, but dead nerves are gone.

I've thought for a while that he might be done. It would be a sad and abrupt way for such a great player to go out.

I like him on Saturday night live, hated playing against him. True stud at QB.

I don't see him retiring especially if Eli gets another ring.

I don't believe a word of it. Manning would die inside if he had to retire. That said, he'll do the smart thing and won't put himself at risk.

    Good post TexasFight.

A semi-healthy Manning still scares me more than Andrew Luck will ever do. Better for the Texans if he retires.

That being said, he's one of the best in the game and it will suck if he decides to retire. But having a healthy future will always be better than a few more years of football.

Makes sense. Rob Lowe has a lot of juice with the city of Pawnee, Indiana, and has the ear of all the Indiana glitterati. I was getting tired of all his commercials that played during the Texans games.

Peyton is a great team player and I hope he retires a colt.

I have always liked him. My favorite player is his brother stop I'm biased.

You can't spell ELITE without ELI!!!

He should just start coaching, he knows more about the game than anyone.

Why are you hoping for a return? I hope the guy's head falls off. (But still lives and has a normal life and stuff.)

Good riddance. This would instantly rank as one of the top 5 greatest moments in Texans' history.
