That is completley r****ded. Misses some threes= Not ready. Absurd. (Let's check out the games he started this year shall we? Not ready my ass)
I don't know about that. When Canaan was healthy and playing and starting, it looked GOOD... The games Canaan has gotten significant minutes, he has been solid, and anyone with eyes can see the potential looming... Chris Paul included...
Canaan should be getting some minutes . I think most Rocket fans would agree with that. No reason for him to just sit at the bench the entire game especially if Beverly or Terry is ineffective for a stretch in any game.
Canaan needs to be put in a position where he can LEAD the team. Tonight he was nothing more than Troy Daniels chucking threes. He's clearly better than what we saw in this game. In fact I would start him right now and deal with the growing pains. Might temporarily lower our floor but it will raise our ceiling in the future.
interesting line for Canaan tonight: 0-6, 0 assists, 0 rebounds, 0 steals, 0 blocks, 2 fouls. and a PER of +7. dude needs to play.
That was not pretty. I'll cut him some slack for not being on the court lately, but he should have been ready to contribute regardless. He was brought in to shoot. He got open looks. And he blew it. Luckily though the squad was playing well in the myst of it all.
Canaan on RGV is a different player entirely. He's a playmaker, he's a shot taker, he can drive and set up teammates. On the Rockets he is relegated to a spot up shooter. I'm not sure if that's McHale or just Canaan. Also, the D league doesn't always translate the same to the NBA. Canaan has talent, and like DMo he showed a lot of promise this summer. When he is given playing time he needs to earn those minutes. Last night he was a dud.
His 0-5 really hurt the team yesterday. He has to be ready when given the shot. Does no good if he needs 'time' or a 'few games' to get his shot falling. Gunslinger mentality.
Outliers. He is not even dominating the dleague like other s in the past. He isn't ready Or he just isn't good enough. Take your pick.
Ok, all you guys that think he shouldn't play because he went 0 for 5 yesterday...what should we do with Bev? Even after brick city yesterday, Canaan's shooting percentages are still higher than Bev's across the board. C'mon guys. Get real here. Harden threw up a 4 for 21 clunker too. We gonna bench him? That's not how you decide who should play.
He's clearly not the same player. He looks weaker and less explosive. He was bullied on D every time.
It's a lot harder to playmake in the NBA than it is in the D League. Right now he just isn't ready. He's not the same player he was. Maybe he just needs more time. Maybe it's confidence. But he looks a step slow and less explosive. That injury must have been pretty severe.
Cannan just needs to play with confidence. He looked nervous trying to play good so he can earn minutes, that's why he plays so good in RGV because he knows he is the best on the floor. He was playing with swag when he was staring for bev, he lost that and needs to find it in a bench roll and he Will be fine
