...as an executive producer. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/655/655671p1.html BTW, along with this news, there has been some Xbox 360 news/media from X05, but I'm a little busy at the moment, so I can't post about it at the moment.
Halo has great character development as a game, and the game itself is very cinematic... in contrast Doom is pretty straight forward and to the point, and the story doesn't exactly take any twists or turns so I think be default it will be better then Doom and if Peter Jackson is an executive producer you know it's battle scenes will be epic.
Ahh yes huge "Covenant vs. Marines" battles in space. I'm sure WETA can handle it. Encouraging, as long as Uwe Boll doesn't direct it.
This is fantastic news! Perfect match - this movie won't just be gimmick crap like most of the other game movies.
Well I do think the story fell apart at the end. And I didn't like the fact that half the game you playing as the Arbiter using covenant piece of s**t weapons. Everything else I loved though.
No - didn't enjoy the single player at all. Never really cared for the multiplayer, so I thought it sucked...
Once upon a time I did not have Live . Plus, I wouldn't necessarily get a game if it doesnt have at least a decent to great singleplayer experience. Halo 1 and 2 both had engaging (but far from perfect) experiences in singleplayer. Now, the muliplayer of course got me hooked. But I'm not gonna buy a game (say like Quake Arena) that has almost a non-existent single player campaign. Great news w/ Peter Jackson signing on board though. I seriously don't want this project to take the route of every vg before it.
Halo 2 was ok. Would have liked a better plot. And more variation in monsters from game 1, but ok. ****ers with orange on them took me nearly a month to get past (just after you hover onto the landing, go up the ramp...). But I figured that biotch out entually. That moment only surpassed by my ability to finally jump across the defective laser bridge in Halo 1. took about a month to do it, only to find out there was nothing on the other side and there must be another way out.
Never played a whole lot of Halo, but I wouldn't get too excited about the movie. Video games just don't make good movies, Resident Evil was one of the worst movie I'd ever seen, Doom looks pretty terrible. Best Video Game Movies: 1. Streetfighter 2. Mario Brothers 3. Who cares.
Half-Life is definately one of the best "stories" in a game out there, and truthfully none of the story has ever really be touched upon in previous movies... it is a completely unique story.
I'd probably go with: 1. Streetfighter the Animated Movie 2. Mortal Kombat 3. Everything else And Halo has the potential to be a damn good movie because the game is a cinematic experience in itself. And w/ Jackson and WETA on board, along with a script by Alex Garland, and with Bungie's 100% commitment to the film and the fans, this movie is definitely on the right track to reversing the trend. I remember comic book movies used to be some cheesy crap until a guy named Bryan Singer changed that. Maybe its finally time for video games.
