he may not make the team but...Pete mickeal deserves to be in the league...he is a flat out good defender and improving offensive player. I went to Marquette and hated when he came to play. He would be a pleasent surprise for me.

OK, that's two new members starting Pete Mickeal threads. Seriously, I know it's you Pete Mickeal. Just work hard and dont' screw up during the pre season and you'll find a spot on this team.

    Welcome to the Board, BUBS.
We need someone who plays Pete's position that can bring the D. Pete has his chance to show what he can do. Time will tell.

(I like your moniker, BUBS. For some reason it cracks me up. :))

    Any defense is good defense!

The Rockets are starving for it....

...we know we can score. But can we stop teams from scoring on us?

I think the "fatter" look is those uniforms. The logo makes them look like they have a pot belly, and when they don't tuck them in it is worse...

Ha ha ha! Funny you should say that. Two years ago I sent an email
to the Rockets staff regarding the players not-tucking in their jerseys
    during games.

For some reason they thought they looked cool that way...

...not true. They look like walking Te-pees.

Only to the mid-80s, when I moved here from Indiana. Not like I followed the team from San Diego, etc.

I can tell. Alot of the younger fans on here probably dont understand your nickname.

JoeBarelyCares was one of the best nicknames in Rockets history. I remember that trade that brough Floyd and him over here for Ralph. I was a teenager back then and thought my world was coming to an end because Ralph was my favorite player.

As big a trade as that was at the time, it turned out to be of little impact. I think Ralph only tried to play another year or two (until a comeback attempt with Phoenix several years later?), and JoeB didn't have a very remarkable career with the Rockets after the trade. Who else was in that trade - was it Steve Harris, Sleepy Floyd? I can't remember now. I guess the Rockets got the better of that deal. But really, it was a dog for a dog. But JoeB was the old school Cato.

I think it was Ralph Sampson/Steve Harris for Carroll and Floyd.

Ralph I believed went from GS then to Sacramento (actually had a couple of good games there) and ended up with Washington last.

You really think Sampson was a dog?

It was. I believe George Karl was their coach at the time, too. Even more hysterical... the Warriors traded their first round pick and a big center for Joe Barely Cares. The big center was Robert Parish and the first round pick turned into Kevin McHale. The 80's Celtics owe a lot to those Warriors... :)
