There are lots of people here that think Ming will bring a dynasty and several championships to Houston. And debate over that issue is healthy, but it seems that most people here want Ming SOOO badly that anyone that praises him is good. Anyone that doubts him is bad, selfish, dumb and must be gotten rid of.

No one on this board has as much at stake with this pick as Steve. If Ming busts, then anyone that thought we should pick him could immediately switch sides and start new threads. But it wouldn't really affect them. Steve, on the other hand, will still have to play with the guy and in the end Steve will be the one blamed for the team not doing well. He is already being blamed for this season even though he missed a good third of it.

Some think that Steve is sitting back saying to himself, I know Ming is great and dominant and we would win a bunch aof championships with him then maybe I won't get all the accolades so I must sabotage this at all costs because I would rather lose than share any glory.

Maybe the truth is, from his point of view, this guy is a huge risk and he just doesn't ever see the guy being the dominant inside presence that the Rockets need. And maybe he thinks that getting a veteren proven player would help the team win next year. Isn't he entitled to his opinion? I mean, it's not like he's all over the news saying Ming sucks. He's been relatively quiet on the situation. Reporters have pressed him on the situation and he has tried to diplomaticaly voice his opinion.

If he were saying we should definately take Ming, the same people saying he shouldn't try to be GM would be cheering him even though he would still be offering his opinion on player/personnel issues.

Why not give the guy the benefit of the doubt? The truth is, if the guy is that selfish and doesn't want to share any glory, he is a free agent next year and he can put himself on a team where he is the only guy. I don't see that happening.

All I have to say is that Ming is better than Jason Collier.

I will calm down and give Franchise the benefit.
I don't like hearing that he is PISSED

It is just everytime he says 'PROVEN' i hear ODOM
and ODOM . . ain't PROVEN to me.
Hell Steve has PROVEN he can hang. . but not Excell yet

He has alot of gaps in his OWN GAME

    Shaq is PROVEN
    Kobe is PROVEN
    McGrady is PROVEN
    Horry is PROVEN

My list of PROVEN players are 1. a bunch of untouchables
    2. a bunch that want BIG MONEY
[Will Steve take less to bring in ODOM? . . If so let's fire this puppy up!!!]

If he wants a PROVEN player. .that may mean less than the MAX
will he take a CUTINNO deal? To Win?

I agree that it's ridiculous for people to get down on Fancis solely based on unsubstantiated rumors. Steve hasn't publicly said anything on Yao.

Now, if this did turn out to be true, then it's a different story. Francis has already gone on record as saying that he's seen very little of Yao Ming, so I don't see where he'd be in any position to evaluate his effectiveness.

No one will blame Steve for not being super. He is the best of the team any time. PG is the most important position ,so every loss have to go PG.

Kidd and Bibby were reason of won.
Nash and fisher were reason of lost. But who want to blame them?

Aelliott, I totally agree. Until I hear Francis say something "more substantial" to the MEDIA about all of this I am not going to get too upset over "hear say."

Also, I think until Francis can make an "educated decision" on Ming, I think it isn't an issue. How about Francis talk to Rudy and the coaches, and then see Ming play etc and then make a decision.

As I said in another thread, I think Francis is just frustrated, he just had surgery and can't ball and all he is left with is dreamcasting for the upcoming season.

Let's see how things are after training camp and the pre-season.
