Revealed in the last Famitsu issue. Some info (from duckroll via NeoGaf): It is for the PS2 BTW, the system that keeps on giving. Niche franchise, but I kind of wanted to make this thread to see if there were any Persona fans out there. It seems a little more popular around message boards and among my friends than I thought it would be. Unfortunately, I forgot to check out Persona 3 last year in all the craziness, but luckily for me, I'll have Persona 3: FES to look forward to soon (didn't expect it to come to the US). And with P4 being release on the PS2, looks like I'll be continuing to play PS2 games for quite a while (*hugs 60GB PS3*).
Personally, I missed out on DDS. Didn't particularly care for Nocturne or Devil Summoner. I'm going to try out FES since it's only 30 bucks, gets rave reviews everywhere, and I like what I've seen from it in videos and such. But if it doesn't impress me I'll probly wash my hands of the series.
I have Nocturne and P3. Keeping my P3 copy sealed and going to purchase FES and play that version. Probably pick up P4 as well and keep it sealed.
I liked Nocturne, although I didn't have much time with it since I rented it. I figured I might buy it later after a price drop. Little did I know at the time that most of the games from Atlus went up in price after being released. Didn't really want to make that mistake with Persona 3, which is why I'm happy about FES. I haven't really had a chance to check out the other games in the "universe" (or whatever you want to call it). I vaguely remember checking out one or both of the previous Personas though, but that was years ago and I don't think I got very far (thinking it might have been a bit too complicated for me at the time, unless I'm getting it mixed up with another game).
The Persona games have been on my "to play" list for quite awhile, along with a lot of other things. I still gotta play Shadow Hearts: Covenant, Rogue Galaxy, ICO, FF12, MGS3... guess it's good to have too many good games to play than not enough.
Never played P2, since that was before I started playing RPGs. Played P3 and liked it. Maybe even enough to buy FES when it comes out. Tried DDS, but the dungeon crawling and random battles every 2 seconds just doesn't do it for me. How is P4 still on PS2? That's pretty crazy. At this rate, maybe I can just skip the PS3 and wait for the PS4.
A bit of an update... More details: HQ version of the trailer (haven't checked it out myself though): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3HGPCHLK Direct-feed screens from Famitsu: http://www.famitsu.com/game/coming/1214218_1407.html Official site is now open: http://p4.atlusnet.jp/ I got a chance to play Persona 1 and 2 over the weekend (beat P1, only a few hours into P2). P1 reminded me why I didn't get very far in it the first time I played it. I'm thinking its core is similar to the other (successful?) Persona games, but it is rough in so many areas, making it hard to really enjoy IMO (still a solid game overall). Only a few hours into P2, although it seems substantially better than P1 (it is almost a bit shocking to go from P1 to P2 IMO). It seems to fix most/all the problems I had with P1, it improves the core by quite a bit, and then it also introduces some new interesting ideas. I'm really enjoying it so far. The 2.5D visuals and animated cutscenes remind me of Xenogears in a way, which I guess is a plus. Hopefully P3 and P4 are similar, if not better. I think I'm definitely hooked to the franchise now.
