Permission to play in Olympics

    So first it was Garbajosa who wasn't given permission to play.. now its Big Z.

    lol, some international teams won't let their players join the NBA and some NBA teams won't let their foreign guys play in the Olympics. Can't we all just get along?

    I understand the business decision behind it and it makes perfect sense. But I'd rather see Big Z allowed to play if that's what he wants, this coming from a diehard Cavs fan. Just like Yao.

    I wonder how bad Z actually wanted to play. Maybe Cleveland did him a favor and made themselves look like the bad guy while Z gets much wanted relaxation.

    Well at 33 he might need the break, but I would imagine he wouldn't have asked if he didn't want to play. It's probably his last chance to compete in the Olympics.

    I understand the decision, I just don't necessarily agree with it.

    I thought that Stern had it so that teams couldn't forbid players to play internationally?
