kid with a nice sized ego... way to blow off teams who might pick you. ever thought those 21-30 pick teams would trade up to draft you? stupid kid. nets got a steal talent wise at #40... could be difficult off the court though.
CDR is smoking something. More power to him if he does well in the NBA but I don't consider him a "steal" at all.
The real reason he fell is because he ****ing sucks. Why does nobody understand this? He has the quickness to blow by those slow white boys trying to cover him in C-USA, but he doesn't have a J outside 15 feet and he won't get by his man that much in the bigs. Plus he pulled a Nick Anderson in that title game. Choke. Choke. Choke. Choke. CHOOOOKE.
I totally agree. Two words for the CDR fans... Brandon Rush. CDR couldn't do anything with Rush in that title game. Rush flat out wouldn't let him drive and then contested that jumper to the point he could barely draw iron on his shot. With how good CDR looked in the tournament up until then I was surprised with how easily Rush handled him. CDR was definitely a benefactor of playing in a crap conference and being able to play off of someone as talented as Rose in that backcourt. CDR is kind of a poor man's Cuttino IMHO.
You're right, he got shut down! (part of it was probably a choke job too) PLUS he said (in that original grab) that he wanted to play in team that ran. Clearly that's a 'no fit' with the Rockets! You gotta be able to play in the half court... I still think he'll 'fit' in the NBA - he's just one of those guys who'll find ways to score + will adapt to the higher level of defense he faces. Happier with Green/ Dorsey though!
Sounds like 'wanted to go to a team that ran more' could be code for 'go to a team where I can run around and jack up shots cause I'm the next MJ'.
Or it could be code for, "I'm not good enough to create my own shot in 1/2 court at the NBA level so I better be on a running team where the floor will be wide open" Those of you who think CDR was a steal will be surprised how easy it will be for bigger, faster NBA players to guard him. Unless he eventually develops a deadly shot from mid-range and runs off picks like Rip Hamilton, CDR won't make it. He sure doesn't bring handles, strength, speed, hops or any real athleticism to the table.
You guys are lame. 1. Link please to original article. 2. In the championship game, CDR scored 22, leading all scorers. The amazing Rush "shut down" CDR to one below his tournament average... wow. Rush then scored 12, below his anemic average of 13. 3. Can't shoot beyond 15 feet? CDR was 40% from long range in the title game, and shot 41% from 3 for the year. (Rush shot 42% for the year, a whopping difference.) 4. Go see the many CDR interview if you think he's a jerk. Doesn't add up. But he is confident, yes. Keep hating on the guy; it's very fun. But at least get your stats right. I'll enjoy checking in on this comparison in a couple of years. PS -- don't even compare their field goal percentage averages in college. Your head will explode as you try to explain how great Rush is.
Quoting statistics is lame. CDR couldn't drive on Rush and he couldn't pull up over him. Did you watch the game?
What a dick!!(sorry for language) I thought he was a good player and had a nice personality this dropped the bomb, I'm glad we didn't draft this punk..
Slow white boys are allowed to criticize other slow white boys. It's our variation on referring to each other with the N-word.
Very true my slow white boy. B-Bob I'ma willing to stake a sig bet that Rush will have a better rookie year than CD-R.
OP, still waiting for LINK. Comets, what's lame is violating protocol around here and not sourcing this "information" about what CDR supposedly said and did. And yes, I watched the game. I also watched him ring up UCLA for 28... you know UCLA, the alleged best defensive team in the nation. Moes, that is an interesting bet. We have to define "better." How about, we only have "better" when one of the two appears in more games *and* averages more points. (?) edit: idiocy deleted. But basically, heck yeah! A sig bet? Overall, look, I'm not in love with CDR. He has limitations. But I like playing devil's advocate with all the "experts." You know, the people who are wrong year after year when they overhype athletes and downplay players. I also am going to keep calling out this "thread" until there's a link to the original material. For now we assume DOMINATOR was the person who heard all of this first hand?
