this would get us back to the top of the league. houston trades: Walt Williams $4,250,000 to lakers houston trades: Hakeem Olajuwon $16,700,000 to lakers houston trades: Kelvin Cato $5,333,333 to lakers (BYC Value $2,666,667) TOTAL: $26,283,333 lakers trades: Robert Horry $4,800,000 to houston lakers trades: Shaquille O'Neal $19,285,716 to houston TOTAL: $24,085,716 TRADE ACCEPTED Due to houston and lakers being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. houston and lakers had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. ------------------ Eddie for three...yesssssssssssss..holy mother
that would be a sweet ass deal! ------------------ its all good and fun till someone gets hurt ... then its absolutely hilarious!
Just to let you know, acquiring Shaq would put just about anyone back to the top of the league. Lakers will never, ever trade Shaquille. They will trade Kobe before they trade Shaq and they're not going to trade either. Them selfish sons of b****es (especially Kobe -- man what an egotistical ass) are going to have to start working together... ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
Clutch True. . . We need to work on our Center's Trash Talking IN THE PAINT: 'HAHAHAHAHAHA SHAQ .. Kobe got the ball I can lay off you now. . .you won't see it anytime soon. . . Just let me box out' Just whisper that in his ear all night. Shaq should let it be subtly known that if you can posterize Kobe. . .he won't save his ass with help defense Rocket River ------------------ [This message has been edited by Rocket River (edited January 12, 2001).] [This message has been edited by Rocket River (edited January 12, 2001).]
CD would do that deal in a heartbeat if LA had the cojones to accept it, but like Clutch said, if anyone were to be traded it would be Kobe. Dominant centers like Shaq are 10 times more valuable than the plentiful scoring shooting guard. it doesn't matter anyway because neither of them are going to be dealt so they might as well shut their pie holes and play ball. ------------------ Go vote for Steve Francis for the All-Star game!! You only have until Sunday!! Vote for Francis!
Why do people constantly (1) start new threads, based solely on a pipe dream trade and RealGM, and (2) why is there a need to copy-and-paste the entire RealGM message? One could just say "Why don't we trade Hakeem, Walt, and Cato to the Lakers for O'Neal and Horry? It works under the cap." I'm beginning to really dislike RealGM, because its lead to these types of threads/posts (which were much more rare before that website came out). I don't mind trade speculation when it makes some sort of sense (involves looking at trade from both sides of the table), but RealGM seems to have removed any logic or though from the process. Sorry Bigdee this isn't a rant against you. ------------------ "Thirty-seven?" -Randall, Clerks www.clutchtown.com
My sentiments exactly. This is only my second post in the past 2 months. These posts threads have taken some of the fun out of CC.net. No offense bidgee. ------------------ "Stranger things have happened, but none stranger than this" - Commentator after a parachutist landed in the ring of a Holyfield fight
Devil Child , Kobe Bryant would be traded before , Shaq , Shaq cant make Free Throws , Shaq cant shoot from beyond 5 feet , But Shaq is almost unstoppable under the basket . If the Lakers had to choose , Kobe would be gone in a heartbeat . ------------------ "Its a good thing they don't make posters of European players" -Walt Williams after getting "posterized" by Zan Tabak .
Just A Tidbit, If there is anyway we could get Shaq, We have a certain annoncer that can help improve his free throws. Great, Huh ------------------ "Holy Pig Knuckles" Mobley scores Again!!!!!!
Not related to the Rockets (*cringes away from the serious police*) but I think Kobe is probably a better investment than Shaq. He's younger, hasn't peaked, and probably will end up having a more dominant career. He already shoots 47% as a SG, which is pretty terrific... and that will only get higher in all likliehood. Besides, Shaq's inability to shoot freethrows is a big liability-worse than most people realize, I imagine, since it was largely made up for by Bryant's end-of-game one-on-one play. Seeing how incredibly good Kobe is at 22, I really doesn't understand those who would take Shaq before him. I mean, at 22 O'Neill wasn't nearly as good. Granted, Kobe's had 3.5 years in the NBA... but you can still SEE how his game could be improved. I used to think that the Jordan comparisons were ridiculous... now I think he may eventually be even better. ------------------ Shandon Anderson rocks. The lottery sucks. Playoffs 2001.
Your forgetting one thing in that trade...the draft picks. Do you really think LA would only want a soon to be retired center, a spot shooter, and a center that is not playing to his ability. Throw in a few 1st rounders and then it might make sense. Anyway...I agree. Kobe should be traded before Shaq would, but Phil Jackson likes guards in the triangle so you never know. Nevertheless, chances of either of them being traded are slim to none. ------------------ "Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all time thing.
