I saw him on Jim Rome today and he said he wanted to go to a team where he could concentrate on playing D and getting rebounds and not trying to score 30 a game. That is what we need. He would also bring some more brand name recognition to the Rocks. If we don't get him I would have really liked Dane Fife. We need a defensive minded guard a la old school Nate McMillan to come off the bench and put the crunch on opposing scorers namely Kobe Bryant.

You're talking about the football player, right? As far as I know, he just recently signed a long-term deal with the Chiefs, so he's probably done with the NBA. He also played PF, I think, and wasn't too good.

Is there another TG I don't know about?

Didn't know that. Still, I don't think he's all that good at basketball. Never seen him, but the reports and stats show he's not that great.

One thing I can assure you of is that he is better than master P. If anyone else saw Jim Rome today on Fox, please input.

Is this the dumbest thing I've ever seen posted?

    Sorry man, but Tony SUCKS...BAD...

Can he shoot, no? He's a 6'4 PF who isn't particularly good or even average in the NBA in ANYTHING. This idea of a defensive-minded SG is pretty much BS anyways. Name more than 3 SG who truly stop other starting SGs...They don't because good offense always beats good offense. Players will get theirs...This defensive stopper = player with little offensive skills who is "athletic" and can "pressure the ball"
What BS...The only players I could think we would like would be Christie, Buckner, and Griffin, and we aren't getting any of them because they are in Sac, SA, and Philly.

Let's see how Oscar is, because he's as good a defender as you can have for a back-up at his price. He's also shown he can score when he knows his role, and their is a rhythm and consistency with the line-up. I swear though, if they seriously think Tito can play SG on either end of the court, I don't know what's gotten into the coaches heads...

I love Tony and I love the Chiefs, but he is too short to play PF in the NBA, and too slow to play SF or SG. He'd better stick to football.

GriffinFan, where did you hear that at about the trying out? I thought that was what was holding them back in the negotiations, and I figured that they had convinced Tony to stick to football when he signed the long term deal.

Yes this is quite possibly the dumbest thing you have ever seen posted. You Fagoot.

Look, I just want someone to come into the game in the second quarter and lay into Kobe with the wrath of Tamiqa (large girl in my third grade class). I mean I want the dudes eyes to pops out of his head and I want him to forget how to make that ridiculous twenty footer that kills everything Shaq can't squish. I want to see Kobe scared. Oh, you must be a Laker fan.

And the part about defensive minded SG's being BS....hmmm......you are not good looking....

That's what I thought, but I didn't really know much about the contract and just listened to GriffinFan since I figured he knew more. I thought TG just figured out he wouldn't make it and decided to stick with what he's good at.

Not saying he's wrong, just want to see where that was stated, as well.

Today's Jim Rome show detailed how Tony's contract allows him to enter the NBA and it had a couple of NBA'ers saying that they wanted Tony on their team as a defensive stopper. That is why I am posting this.

Thanks for the support Copilot, got my bizack! I also like how you always use the face with the black goggles on. I don't know what that face means, I think it means "cool", but it might mean "underwater".

if you are worried about yao getting injured/warn down in the offseason... how about if he played in the NFL instead of a nonphysical asian games?

    It's f*****, fool...

Anways, Tony has as much of a chance stopping Kobe as Moochie does. No seriously, I hate the lakers, but no one is going to stop Kobe, and Gonzales probably couldn't even stop Oscar Torres...

Hey, and let's get Tony Boselli to stop Shaq. That would actually be pretty funny. Hmmm.

Shoot, we should get the Big Show from the WWE. He's over 7' and weighs 500lbs! (well, probably more than 500.)

Too bad he's kind of slow. He started a run-in on Monday Night Raw, but didn't make it till Smackdown on Thursday. :D (j/k.)

edit: He may not be 500lbs, but I heard him say that a few times. I went to a fan site and it says he's around 420. That's still a lot.

I saw Tony Gonzalez on "The Life." He didn't get any playing time on the Heat's summer league team, and he quit and said that he would rather get in shape for football. We should just re-sign Oscar.
