    Have you guys actually tried the Mentos in soda trick?

    If not, do this, and WHATEVER YOU DO, DO IT OUTSIDE :

    1) Take a 2 liter bottle of Diet Coke (I believe this works best) and open the top
    2) Place a sheet of paper over the opening just to cover it up
    3) Roll a piece of paper into a small tube that will accept the Mentos
    4) Place the tube of Mentos on top of the piece of paper that is covering the opening of the bottle of Diet Coke
    5) Tell everyone to stand clear
    6) When you're ready, keep holding the tube over the opening and slowly pull the paper out that covers the opening. This should cause the Mentos to fall into the bottle.

    The eruption is ridiculous. At work, we got something like a 10-15 foot geyser of Diet Coke. The bottle shouldn't explode or anything and should remain upright. But everything in about a 3-5 foot radius may get soaked. It only lasts for about 3-5 seconds, but it's pretty spectacular.

    Somebody should videotape doing themselves doing it and put it online. :D

    thats insane... the big difference is dropping the mentos and then recapping the bottle and shaking it up... 100 times more fun to be had...

    as I said in a previous thread about the mentos/soda experiment, I had tried it with some kids i work with, but it is nothing like that video eddiesnubbed shared...
