    RR,

You talking about the call where Drexler allegedly slammed the ball after a dunk to showboat when he was really trying to keep it from hitting his head? I think that was Game 3 or 4 when the score was really close.

I remember Drexler and the ref. What was the deal with the Mayor's wife?

Gosh, I can't remember, but I don't think it was the Finals vs the Magic where Clyde got the Delay of Game for pushing the ball after the breakaway rebound and dunk.

I think it was during the playoffs. I don't know the details, but Clyde (who is respected as a good guy around the League and still works for the NBA nowadays) went off on Jake O'donnell with a F You F you Fyou F You tirade. Jake did something to him to set Clyde off, but I just don't remember.

Then Bob Lanier's wife? called the NBA about it to tell them what Jake did and Jake O'd got fired I guess.

I'm pretty sure it was against the Suns...definitely not the finals.

Clyde got a T, then was walking up to O'Donnell to ask what he did, and he gave him a quick second T. It was ridiculous. That's when Clyde exploded--he certainly didn't deserve the second one.

I remember. Clyde had to be restrained. That ref crossed the line in a way I've never seen before. The NBA didn't have Jake officiate another Rockets game for a long time, and lifted the fine against Drexler.

it was game 2 vs the suns. if i remember correctly, the rockets had just scored and were running back to the other end of the court, and out of nowhere, clyde gets thrown out of the game. jake o'donell also supposedly refused to shake clyde's hand before the game. and he threw him out in the second period for what looked like no reason.

i dont think he ever worked another game.

That was his last game. According to Jake, he said if he wasn't good enough to work the Rockets games, then he wouldn't work any games.

Clyde told Mario before the game that Jake didn't like him, and Jake refused to shake his hand before the game. Classy.

It was definately against the Suns. I guess the league got "lucky" that we won that series, huh?

It was just before halftime, the Rockets had just scored and Barkley was going to take the inbounds pass close to halfcourt to make a last second shot. Clyde backsided him so when he turned around Barkley would get the charging foul. Instead, O'Donnell gave Clyde the foul. Clyde rushed at him, and O'Donnell gave him a double-technical. Clyde and the whole team lossed a nut on O'Donnell. It started an uproar in Houston. O'Donnell never reffed another NBA game, early retired before the next season.

It was Game Two at Phoenix. The Lanier's were season ticket holders and were always at the Rockets home games. Mrs. Lanier went to bat for Clyde and gave the NBA league office her two cents on the matter.

I could be wrong, but I remember it being earlier in the game. I definitely remember a technical being called before Drexler went after him, though.
