I agree, there where were al least two occations where Yao could have been feed in the paint for an easy bucket.

Absolutely it's just stupid not to pass the ball to Yao when he is that close and that open... Stupid... Stevie has been playing great but he for what ever reason refuses to pass it to eddie and Yao... I don't get it.. actually it's just not steve but all the guards... and it's not Rudy, the whole point of the pick and roll is to separate the man from the ballhandler and/or if that doesn't work then the picker rolls and is left open you pass it to them...

Granted there were many times when Yao and Eddie weren't clearly open and a pass would not have been easy by our guards but there also where times when Yao was open I mean wide open and steve could not, would not pass it to him... that is just bad basketball.. Rudy designs these plays for a reason and they are not executing them...

Come on guys pass thhe ball all you have to do is become half the passer that Yao is and we will do fine... We are playing etter every game bbut we need more motion in the motion offense...

Agreed. One point in particular stands out when Yao set the pick and Steve decided to fight the ensuing double team instead of pass to a now wide-open Yao.

    Frustrating.

    These guys are really dumb.

The most glaring non-pass was from K.T. to Yao, who was wide open. Instead, K.T. passed across court into the thick of Raptor defenders. Yao could have had another Mingerroll or the first Yaoquake!

Just out of curiosity ......this new deal that the NBA has with China to broadcast games in China .......where does this extra revenue go? Is it going to be split evenly with the rest of the teams or will the Rockets receive a bigger piece of the pie than the rest of the league?

The idea of us sitting in front of the tube screaming at Mobley to pass it to Yao Ming while 280 million Chinese households on the other side of the world do the same is hilarious! :D

You would think their would be some sort of cosmic vibe that would put the thought in Cat's head... He must really have that ball hog block thing down... :D

OldMan Rock:- I have said it many times! I was hoping that I would be proved wrong, but it has not been the case! Francis is a good player but at present he is more interested in his own personal stats. This indicates that he is afraid (sub consciously) of Yao and or Griffin becoming the main Star of the Team ! So why should he assist them to look better than himself? It is quite obvious that Steve Francis is the best player on the Rockets, but he hasn't had the publicity, due to Yaomania. I consider that he has now proved his worth and hope with sincerity that he settles down, becoming a Team Player!

I am still trying to figure out why Cat wont pass it to Yao. I mean, this is an outrageous statement considering Cuttino is a "professional", but do you think hes threatened by Yao in that hes afraid that the spotlight will be more on Yao and Steve than Steve and himself? I just cant think of any other reason why Cuttino refuses to give him the rock, ESPECIALLY when he has great position or is practically wide open. I mean, Cuttino is not one thats going to pass alot to begin with, but this year, it seems to be worse.

I know Cuttino hired a publicist and all this year. Is there something to all of this?????

I sure hope not. Just a thought.

Maybe it's like that movie where the guy had this huge fat girfriend but he sees her as this hot chick all the time...

Does Yao Ming look like Speedy Claxton to Cat?

Maybe he's jealous of Steve - Yao Ming?

Didn't Yao Ming pass up that shot down low and hit Cat cross court at the three point line?

Do you remember when we would watch the Chinese team at the World Championships, and their guards would ignore him down low to jack up shots, even if he had his man beat? Do you remember what we called those guards? Steve and Cat are much higher quality, true, but if it looks like a duck, and sounds like a duck, and refuses to pass the ball to the big duck in the middle of the pond....

    lol

Maybe Yao is setting an example to Cat. "Hey Cat, look I passed you the ball. How about giving me the ball when my man, who is only 6'9", is 5 feet away from me?"

Actually, Im thinking that would be Colin Pine that would have to tell him that.

Heres an idea! Maybe Cat doesnt respect Colin Pine????? :p

100% agree with yetti. Francis is a great player, but too selfish, only care for his stats, which make Rockets not a team, the weakness exposed a lot when face to strong team. If this way continued, Rockets wouldn't go playoff though Francis would have highest states in the league. Rudy has to talk to Francis directly.

After that pass they were going to the sideline and Cat was high fivin' Yao Ming for the pass. Murphy is saying he shouldn't have thrown the pass and Worrell is jivin' him because Murphy never passed... :D

I am almost positive that it is shared equally. The Ming jerseys, the Francis jerseys, the Jordan jerseys, etc.

I believe the Rockets can broadcast and keep the revenue from local broadcast rights only. The NBA owns all non-local broadcast rights and distributes profits equally whether it's ESPN, TNT, Canadian (non-local), European, or Chinese.

Someone feel free to correct me, but I recall that this was discussed this past summer and that was the conclusion.

That would be my guess. I'm sure the Rockets get to keep all the revenue from advertisments they sell and naming rights for their arena. I'm thinking of the Yangji (sp?) Beer deal that they have on the press table.

Anyone want to guess who will purchase the naming rights of the arena next year?

    Onkyo Arena!

Unfortunately Yao walked onto a team that is not used to sharing the ball because playing unselfishly over the past year would have been a stupid decision. Steve and Cuttino are probably in love with the idea of leading the league in scoring, and they are obviously doing a pretty good job of it right now. Now that the team is talented from top to bottom there will HAVE to be some attitude changes, otherwise some talented teammates won't be getting along very well. It already appears like Hawkins, Nachbar, and Yao are some of the best passers on the team, so maybe Steve and Cuttino will warm up to the idea of letting their teammates carry more load. It only makes sense. I just hope that it is sooner rather than later.

In one sense I am a little ticked off about it, but then again, those two guys have 3 years of experience doing what they are doing right now. In the past it was the right thing to do, but now now it is time to change.

Just like we were concerned about Steve accepting Yao onto the team based on his draft time comments, I think we are dealing with the EXACT SAME ISSUE right now. And like he came around to embrace Yao as a teammate off the court, I think there is a 90% chance Steve will end up doing the same on the court.... eventually.
