I wouldn't mind Portland either as that's entered the discussion as a possible relocation destination. I would put my money on KC, though.
I actually think the Penguins would do well in Houston. They've got the next big thing in the NHL on their team, too. The Houston Penguins....Ahhhh.
Per TSN, Winnipeg is supposedly on the short list. Personally, I'd like to see them wind up either in Houston, Portland, or Winnipeg. Houston for obvious reasons, Portland because the NHL is very under-represented in the Northwest and the city could support another major team, or Winnipeg simply because it would be nice to see Canada get a team back.
that's the way i understand it, too. perhaps the ownership group would be willing to let les in. does he have to own a controlling interest for this to work?
Unless I'm reading it wrong, Houston isn't out because of that offer. Houston is out because Les isn't making an offer at all. Because, from best I can tell, the only man in town who can bring an NHL team to town without building a new arena doesn't seem all that interested. He could have offered something like this as well. The silence is deafening. I don't think Les has any intention of bringing an NHL team to Houston. Just my guess.
Les is too concerned with his other interests right now... namely Project milkshop. Honestly, I've never seen something so dumb.
Let me freakin cry a river for all you Houston fans disappointed you can't steal my hockey franchise away from me!!! (I'm a Pittsburgher)
