Peja still wants a trade. Is there ANY WAY we get him without losing Yao/Tmac?

This is from his recent interview:

Q: Will you insist on a trade even if it doesn't happen?
A: Yes, I will. There are still opportunities for something to happen during the regular season.

Q: Which team would you like to be traded to? On which team would you like to play?
A: There isn't any particular team in my mind, but I would like to go to ateam that is on top, on a team that has the potential to be in the play-offs and win a championship. There are few teams with such potential, and usually when you ask for a trade from a Western conference team, you end up in the East. It would be best for me to go to a city I like and one that has a very good team, but on the flip side, basketball is my job and that is what's most important to me.

Throw in any scenarios, is there any chance that we get him without losing our dynamic duos?

There is about a 1 in a million chance that it could happen.

If CD has compromising photos of the Maloofs, Peja for Spoon/Lue is a possibility.

I believe Rockhead or one of our many photojournalists can arrange for just such compromising photos. This is a done deal.

Fair point, although we had an asset like Francis that was at least something to offer.

Other than Tmac and Yao this team does not have a lot of good assets. We have some decent ROLE players but not good assets to trade, to BUILD a team around. I mean after Tmac and Yao the best players are Jim Jackson and Juwon Howard. They are decent role players but are on the downside of their careers. There is no way they can fetch an all star caliber player.

I'd have to disagree with you there.

    1) We had attractive talent to make that deal happen.

    2) T-Mac said he would only sign an extension with us.

Those two factors made that deal possible. We have no such leverage in a Peja deal.

i also do not agree. With the t-Mac deal we had mobley and francis. Those were very good players, now besides the top 2 we have nobody. The differance between T-Mac and francis/Mobley. is not as much as the differance between Peja and any of the players we have on our roster (exept the top 2).

And like codell said, T-Mac wanted to play for us. Peja have never said anything about the rockets

What if Peja says that he only wants to play for the Rockets?

We could offer JJ + Howard + three future #1s but there will probably be much better offers from other teams.

    Man,

I hope Sacremento makes him play out his contract, I am sick of all these high priced guys whining about winning.

    You want to win.....play better.

Actually, considering C Webb's relationship with Howard (vs his relationship with Peja) + JJ's time in Sac this is a (remote) possibility improving the odds of acquisition to no worse than 100,000 - 1.

no we cannot get peja. the kings will not trade peja. Even if peja is traded, the rockets wont be interested. Even if we are, there will be a lot of better offers. So either way, peja will not ever be a rockets. case close.

    I agree whole heartedly.

The only difference is that TMac made it clear he would opt out of his deal, and leave Orlando with nothing.

He used a bargaining chip, these other clowns have no leverage.

We trade them Howard for Peja. Then they trade Bibby for Jalen Rose. They sign King...

1 in a million chance sounds about right to me.

The Rockets would probably have to send Howard and Taylor to different teams for players that Sacramento would be interested in.

JJ would need to be included in the package to Sacramento.

Mutombo’s expiring contract and the 6.9 trade exception would head to a team looking for cap space in exchange for some young talent which the Rockets would send to the Kings.

It would probably take a very unrealistic 5 teams deal, which will never happen.

We trade all the players on our team for Peja except for Yao and T-Mac and then we field a 3 man team.
