The 3rd man we need behind TMAC and YAO. I know he's been hurt but man the guys can hit the outside J. Is the 8th pick, JH and Sura enough?
Yeah that would be great because he could come in and be another person who can put up points but he opted out to negotiate a bigger deal for himself. The MLE wont bring him here. The only pieces we have to offer Indiana would be Swift, Howard, Head and or pick. Im not sure they would want any of those. Im not to sure on his health status either ?
it isn't going to happen. this is really a dead horse and has been for about a year now, he'll resign with the pacers. they didn't trade ron artest for him for nothing. we couldn't afford his contract if we wanted to anyway. he hasn't been affordable for the mle for god knows how long.
Hey man if he doesnt resign with the indiana pacers that would be very stupid of indiana cuz then they would be horrible next season. I think that if he does what stro did to be with rockets like he didnt take the highest contract offer then that would be really sick! T-mac could go back @ the 2 guard. C- Yao-mutombo-stro PF- Stro-howard-chuckhayes SF- Peja-Bogans- SG- T-mac-8th pick-head PG- James-Alston-head
WE all know the MLE isnt enough.... Shouldn't the question be... Will Les Alexander hold up his end of the bargain by stating to CD here is a blank check?????????? T-mac and Yao only have 4 years together max....... BLANK CHECK...... Les take it in the A#@ and be like Mark Cuban... Get some people in here and pony up the dollars....
Yeah... it'd work only in a sign & trade deal with Indiana. but i don't like his mentality as a player, no feel to game, not even close to it.
you can't just buy a roster full of free agents, this isn't baseball. the most we can give someone is the MLE. if peja wants more and the rockets want him, it'd have to be a sign and trade. les ponying up the money is irrelevant.
no he can't hit the outside J. Not when it counts. Remember Sacremento vs the Lakers? It only appears that Big Shot Rob's jumper shows up. We need athleticism and defense, plus we dont need anymore overpriced players.
That would be good, but his past playoffs and his injuries concern me. It seem like evertime Sac got on a roll, he got hurt.
1st What are you talking about??? Heard of Knicks... Dallas.... 2nd I'm not talking about getting every high profile player this off-season... I'm taking about getting 1 ... Maybe not a Max contract player but someone up there.. That Legit 3rd option......
BigM is right. The NBA has a 'soft' salary cap. Teams that is over the cap cannot outright sign (most) free agents. There are exceptions to the cap and teams like the Knicks acquired such bloated salary by using those exceptions year after year. The most notable salary cap exception is Bird rights, which allows a team to exceed the cap to resign their own free agents that has been with the team for 3+ years. Every year teams also get a mid-level exception (MLE) of approx. 5mil to sign one or more free agents. Other types of exception include early-bird, non-bird, rookie, minimum, trade, and others. You can read more about the caphere . In short, like BigM said, Rockets cannot sign Peja without a sign and trade.
Might want to check salary cap rules before spewing off hatred towards Les Alexander cause he didn't sign Peja. The Knicks and Mavs got into Luxery tax land due to trades ...not signing free agents. Just acknowledge that you don't know much about NBA salary cap rules and take our word for it.
the guy could have made over 8 million next year and he turned down his option to see if he could make more He just dosen't offer enough for the Rockets for them to spend that kind of money.
