So I was one of the people who bought the Pebble watch from Kickstarter last year. It's the watch that you can sync with your iphone or android and control music, get text messages displayed on your watch, etc. Here's the link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/597507018/pebble-e-paper-watch-for-iphone-and-android. Anyway, I messed with it for a full 60 seconds and never touched it again. Didn't even wear it. The e-paper technology, while great, was never really my style. Here's all the relevant info on it: Color: Jet Black Price: I bought it for $115, selling it for $100. Keep in mind, these things are sold out and are on pre-order on the company's website for $150. Also, they're on ebay, selling for no less than $190, with a lot of the "buy it now" prices in the $300s (which I think is crazy). Comes with: Whatever it came with originally -- box, usb charger. Contact: Send a text at 832.800.3675 or e-mail at askarimonster at gmail dot com. Pics from the company's website, spoiler'd for size: Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler
Damn... so tempting. Trade for another kickstarter device? Equiso? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2028163448/equiso-smart-tv-turn-any-tv-into-a-smart-tv
It's very light, and no, it doesn't feel like it would be uncomfortable during a workout. I looked around on the internet for specifics on the weight, and looks like it's 38.5g. Also, it's waterproof at 5 ATM (50m), so you can "swim with your Pebble and change tracks while in the shower" (from the pebble website).
The sale is currently pending to Tommyboy. If for some reason it doesn't go through, I'll give an update.
for the most part. I think it was too under powered to be able to do anything. It also repeatedly crashes. It didn't play well with Plex or XBMC. Altho, it did a fine job of streaming videos through Mplayer off my network. I heard the pro version is much better since it has double to processing power.
I have a Motorola Motactv which includes a GPS and music player in addition to the fitness stuff (also includes golf course data). Anyway, it looks to be of a similar size and it isn't a bother to me when I am running.
Thanks again ER for selling me the Pebble. My gf will enjoy using it until her white Pebble finally arrives (hopefully not next year)!
lol, I figured most kickstarter projects end up being shadows of what they are advertised as being able to do. I heard there were quite a few issues with the Pebble as well, and that was probably the reason you wanted to get rid of it.
So now I'm a guy that only wanted to sell his product cuz there were "issues" with it? I get that you're not admitting fault for your douche move, but please don't try to ruin my reputation too. Thanks.
Quit blowing things out of proportion. There are tons of people happy with the Equiso. Depending on weather you are a power user or someone that just uses it to play Angry Birds. I personally gave a review based on my usage and made points specific to that. I feel it is junk for the most part. To each their own. Someone that uses it for watching videos from a USB would love the device.
